Zinnia watched the two drink the potion, glad that they would have at least some form of protection against the evening. "Potions are easy to learn and remember, once you have the fundamentals down." Their food was placed on the table, the day's special was different of course, most cafes and shops served seasonal food. The town was very conscious of their agricultural needs, they lived with the land, not off of it. There were creatures that shared their resources, after all. This was why Zinnia did not shoo the mice in the attic, why she allowed the spiders to lurk in the corners of the house and prey on the unsuspecting bugs that that may come across their path. Zinnia took a bite of her food, her expression remaining cautiously neutral when Rainarch announced that Yue wished to learn Divination.
"Divination is what one might call a soft magic." Zinnia wiped her mouth with a napkin. Blithe giggled, already aware of Zinnia's opinion. "It's not a particularly useful magic considering the future is ever changing and the methods of divination aren't the most reliable. Quite often, predictions made through the leaves and what not are inaccurate and there is no true science behind it." Blithe's tails swished, her ears twitching, "Zinnia's just not very good at it." Her Master sniffed the air, tossing red hair over her shoulder. "It's because it isn't a reliable form of magic." The young witch turned back to her soup, her spoon stirring itself in order to cool it down.
"Not everyone can use Divination, just like any other magic, it's based on what you're most proficient in." Blithe explained, "While some might feel the pull towards divination or occlumency, others lean towards elemental magic. Mostly any witch or wizard can learn potions, since that's more about memorizing and knowing what works." Blithe had already finished her food, the nine tailed fox enjoyed the taste, even if she didn't necessarily need to eat. "You should try it Rainarch, there are other things that taste good in this world. Aside from mana of course," Zinnia yawned, she was already growing weary after a full day of activity.
"I've purchased a few books to help you begin your studies, basics on runes and the like. It won't do to have you show up to tutoring without at least some knowledge of our language." It would make Zinnia look bad as well, considering she was acting as Yue's sponsor. "Over the summer, I think it would be best if I tutored you, the University prides itself on only admitting the most prestigious and I have to admit, you're one big question mark Yue. You've managed to strike a deal with a demon, which is a complex spell, that will intrigue them, but you have to have more under your belt."
