|| Dearly Beloved || Utada Hikaru ||
Callisto bolted upright as soon as her power button was rebooted. She was in nothing but her undergarments, her fancy dress left behind at the concert hall. A shiver ran down her spine, her body's internal heating system kicking in. "Where are we?" Io hadn't yet awoken, she was still asleep on the other side of the cell. Callisto rose, realizing her ankle was chained to the bed post. Why? The bars were far enough apart for her to slip through. The chain weighed her ankle down, much too heavy for her frame. "Let us out!" She screamed, slightly panicked, but no one came. Callisto alone didn't warrant enough of a threat for two guards, it was only when Io came around that they arrived, positioning themselves at the doorway.
"Io!" Callisto went as far as the chain would allow her, just shy of being able to reach her sister. "Let us go," she demanded. They ignored her, focusing on Io, on enticing her to their side. "You're not going to join them, are you?" Callisto asked, her hands shaking, perhaps from the cold or from the nerves. Callisto's hands clenched into fists, she couldn't believe this was happening, this was the last thing she needed. Yui had warned her, hadn't she? She had told her to watch out, but Callisto had been too engulfed in her concert and everything happening around her. It had been the final performance, she should have been on a plane heading back to the island, instead, she was here, in some strange basement in the middle of who knows where.
Were Jace, Black Jack, and Dane alright? Was Vince alive? Had they killed him? What about Dr. Grover? What would happen to her real body if Dr. Grover died? "Io, you can't join them." Callisto begged in a whisper, "these aren't good people." She went back to sit on the bed, wrapping the thin blanket around her to provide at least a bit of cover. Callisto knew that Io liked Firis, but if she truly had any sense, she would deny the offer to join up. Was Fina still in there? Could she fight Io for control to stop her? "I won't join your cause, ever," Callisto said quietly, although she had an inkling that they didn't care about her. No doubt she was only here as leverage for Io, but this body could always be replaced.
Her real body was safe for now and if Io remembered that then they would be fine. They would just have to wait it out, hopefully Jace or Black Jack would be able to lock onto their signal somehow and come rescue them. Callisto had faith, she knew the combat unit, she knew that Jace wouldn't rest until they were returned safe and sound to GENOS Labs.
