Riven grinned as they returned, placing her hands on her hips. "I told Lorraine to go through with it, but I didn't think they would." Riven had to admit, this was a rather impressive display. She watched as Elise and Doll grabbed onto Viola, dragging her away from the runway and towards the the preparation room with Elise. Riven waggled her fingers as Viola was taken, still a bit on a sugar rush. "Hey, where have you guys been all day?" Jacob inquired as he swaggered over, hands on his hips. "The theater, bakery, and Eiffel Tower," Dominic replied without skipping a beat. "Oh? Date? You know humans and vampires are a big no, no, right?" He waggled an eyebrow. "I wouldn't dream of dating Viola's wifey," Dominic replied with a good-of-heart sort of laugh.

"Wifey? Is that what she's calling you now?" He glanced at Riven, there was sweat on his forehead, his cheeks were still flushed. "You were fighting Christopher, weren't you?" Riven inquired, purposely diverting the topic. Jacob stiffened, then slowly nodded. "Did you win?" He scratched the back of his neck, slowly shaking his head, which then hung in shame. "No, he's too damn strong. Tch, legendary weapon and a babe that can possess it." So vampires were off limits, but demons were the exception? How very strange. Never mind that, the show would be starting soon. "I want to sit in front," Riven tugged on Dominic's sleeve. "Alright, let's grab seats then." This way Riven would have no one blocking her view of the show. She had never been to one of these fashion parades.

The lights dimmed, the ones on the makeshift catwalk illuminating. Riven jumped as loud music began to blare through the speakers, placing her hands over her ears in an attempt to dim them down a little. Jacob reached into his pocket, popping something into her ears that muted the sound a bit. "Thank you," she murmured, wondering how he had suddenly taken a liking to her after watching her kill Baroness Kitra. Riven leaned back against the seat, watching as Viola took the stage, clearly suppressing her smile. Good, this was her moment, she deserved to relish every bit of it. "Go Vi!" Jacob yelled, whistling in a strange manor.

Echo had thrown up the entire bowl of oatmeal. After months of not eating, even that was too solid. Shiro sat beside her, rubbing her back as she shook, evacuating her stomach into a bucket beside the bed. Wei stood beside an IV pole, inserting something into the line that made Echo feel dizzy and weightless. Shiro gave her something to wash her mouth out with as tears pricked her eyes for the umpteenth time that day. "Do you want to go watch the show?" The puppy offered, her tail wagging hesitantly. It was clear that she wanted to go see it. Echo only shook her head, she was afraid. "It's okay Shiro, you can go." The puppy nurse jumped off and scurried out, clearly eager to go watch the antics of the humans.

Wei took a seat beside where Echo lay, curled up in a ball, hugging the stuffed demon Christopher had given Doll to give to her. She was trembling as she sniffled, her body tense. "Echo, do you want to retire?" Wei inquired softly, "we can send you somewhere nice. You would never have to fight again." Retire? She thought of that basement, not the one she had been trapped in, but well, the other one she had been trapped in while waiting to become a birth mother. No, Echo did not want to be lined up for that fate again, but the thought of returning to the field terrified her. The thought of having to face Iflet made her physically ill. "It'll be peaceful, rolling fields, no cell phones, you'll be in your element." Echo shook her head slowly.

"I-I don't want to b-be a birth m-m-mother," she shivered, knowing the facility he was referring to. The fact was, was that the King's were very powerful and their offspring could prove to be useful. "Childbirth is easy, or so I'm told. You would get to be spoiled, you can kill as many sheep as you like and you'll get to eat all of the food. No one will tell you what to do or how to dress." No, retirement was the equivalent of a death sentence. "You don't have to make up your mind now. Once you're well enough, Doll and I agreed to send you and Hawks to rehab. You can make your decision there." She could hear the implications in his voice and Echo choked on a sob.

If she didn't get better there, her fate was sealed.
