---Beginning of Issue 5---

Morrigan was floating on her back, soothed by the slow rock of salty waves. She was in a tropical bliss surrounded by sublime palms, reptiles, and insects. She was also intensely afraid of the leviathans in the depths of this cretaceous ocean, paired with no clue why she was out in the water in the first place. She could suddenly feel a wall of scales supporting her back and pushing her up out of the water. She was then flung high into in the humid air, making her peace with the world as she descended into the jaws of a plesiosaur.

As she descended the teeth became transparent and glistening, and the crush of her atoms thrust her through time and space. She ended up in the Northern hotel in the early 20th century, looking through the window at huge, glimmering icicles. All the heat had left her body, and was returning slowly, trickling through at the speed of mollasses on this frigid day.

She was crowded by chilled townsfolk clutching hot tea and blankets. She heard a man say “the water is so good here, it’s worth every frostbite on my fingers... I’ll never leave this town.” another man chimed in, “and the liquor never freezes!”

When the roar of drunken laughter subsided she could hear classy ladies listing the items that have frozen in the town. Locomotives, bottles of ink, and water pipes which were bursting from the expansion. She was suddenly thrust out of her subconscious and she sat straight up in bed. Expanding water through freezing! that’s how Klara and I will escape! she thought to herself. A nurse barged in expecting to go through the rituals of waking a hostile patient. Instead, she found Morrigan sitting on the edge of her bed, smiling brightly.
