“You're not too far from it, actually," she responded, turning so that she was glancing out towards the street. “If you take a left here, you can follow the road all the way towards the edge of the town. It's right before you reach the forest road," she continued, turning her attention back towards the doctor.
“It is about fifteen minutes, time wise, from here," Adrien added, taking a drink from his tea. “If you'd like assistance, we would be more than happy to show you the way," he stated, his gaze just lifted over the brim of his tea cup. Amaryllis huffed lightly, though, as if she were amused by something.
“You say it like you want them to get lost," she stated, chuckling lightly as Adrien frowned.
“On the contrary, Miss Bellamy. I only wish for their safe journey," he replied, causing Aila to shake her head and roll her eyes. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she liked these people. For what it was worth.
A week into the meeting, Aila sighed softly as she trimmed the last set of thorns from the rose stems. She didn't need her customers to prick themselves on them, and it was something she enjoyed doing. Vincent and his family would be passing by the shop sometime in the afternoon to pick up their order. She didn't have spider lilies in stock when it had been requested of her, however; she'd managed to find someone not too far who could get them for her. It was a request she wanted to fulfill. The chiming of the front door brought her attention away from her thoughts, and she turned to greet the potential customer.
“Welcome to Elysian Fields," she greeted, the soft smile on her face growing when she recognized the person. “Zeke! How was your vacation!" she asked excitedly as the town's sheriff entered her shop. He smiled tiredly in her direction, something worn and exhausted behind his soft brown eyes. His hair, a dark brown color, was slightly tussled, as if he'd just woken up. Perhaps he did?
“Good, it was good," he replied, a slight rashness to his voice. Aila tilted her head, though, and pursed her lips together. “I think I'm catching a cold, though," he added, causing Aila to sigh heavily. “And what of you, Miss Ryuzaki, how has business been for you?" he asked, leaning over the counter as she smiled at him.
“It's been a little slower than usual, but I did get a big order in last week. The customers who placed the order will be here soon, if you want to meet them," she stated, leaning over to grab a single yellow tulip. She clipped the bottom of it, and placed it in a tube of water before handing it to Zeke. “Your favorite, right?" he chuckled.
“You know me too well. Where's Adrien? Is he finally on a vacation, too?" he asked, glancing around the shop as if mentioning Adrien's name would summon him.
“No, he's out with Amaryllis getting more fertilizer. He'll be back in a few minutes," she replied. “Stay, though, and meet the new residents of Sanctuary. You'll like them, they're really... interesting." It was the only polite way of saying that she liked them.
