Nova regretted causing the cacophony of concern over Summanus, the raised voices inflamed a headache of his that had been buried beneath other sources of more pressing pain. Though they had shared the same breathing space for the better part of a season, Nova had never been particularly close to the lightning wolf. Of course he was a terrible asset to lose, Summanus was one of the more skilled and determined fighters in their motley pack. Certainly more than himself. But right now Nova just wanted the others to shut up. Summanus would drag himself back in here like every wolf else, or be dragged by Mydnyte.
Relief arrived in the softer voice of one of those young wolves that had been scrounged, announcing he had returned with water. This was the male, an Arlyne he gathered from listening to the others. Nova waited anxiously for the wolf to arrive at his side. Water was brought to his lips in a gentle stream, a curling rivulet brought up from the bucket it had been brought in. Blind to the wonder, Nova lapped at the stencil of water greedily, the rivulets tracking down his cracked throat and tongue like spring rains flooding down a desert riverbed. He was hardly aware of the pup speaking to him, nervously, and with a bit of a strain. It sounded like this basic bit of Aquakinesis was a struggle for the young one. Too soon the water was stopped, leaving behind a metallic aftertaste and a yearning for more.
"Its all I can give you, sah. Gotta save some for the others, yeah?"
Nova wanted to open his mouth to complain. Didin't this welp know how long he had been waiting for this, and how much he deserved it for going so far out of his element? It was hardly fair! But Nova also didn't want to dry out his mouth by yapping with it. So he rolled onto his side with a groan, listening to the water wolf pick up his pail and pad over to Durandel.
Yous need some too, yeah fire wolf?
