And now, the Casanova Beta blamed himself for every wound of Cyrus’ body. Which didn’t make sense to either of the Sigma boys. Neither of them really knew what happened when Maddox was away in New York, as Cyrus didn’t really know himself, and hadn’t even told Max yet that he was seeing Maddox again. He didn’t even have time to tell his closest brothers that the Maddox Izumi was his boyfriend. Hopefully, he would have the chance to once he healed.
”You know who did this to Cyrus?” Jack blurts out, looking at Maddox after the young Beta trails off, obviously knowing more about the situation than Jack first realized. He turns away from Cyrus’ window and towards the two Betas. ”Cyrus never told me why he forgave you for that phone call. I didn’t even know you two were anything before that. As long as I’ve known about you, you slept with Alphas and didn’t have any relationship I heard about. But obviously you care enough about him to be here, so… what happened?” Jack asks, completely honest with Maddox as he wanted the same from the other man.
Before he could get the answer he wanted, a cry came from Cyrus’ room. Jack’s head whipped over, finding Reid leaning over Cyrus and pressing desperately at one of the buttons beside Cyrus’ bed.
Cyrus had woken up as soon as the pain medication wore off, his chest burning as he tried to get oxygen into his broken nose or his bruised ribs. He immediately clutches to Reid’s hand, eyes squeezed shut to focus on anything other than pain. his eyes push back open in panic, attempting to sit up to get any more air in his chest but unable to get enough strength in his hands to move up.
The nurse rushes in, helping Reid move Cyrus up into a sitting position to breathe easier. She starts to administer the pain medication, cooing at Cyrus that everything would feel better once the medication settles in. His baby blues stare at the hands, still wide with anxiety as he waits for the medication, every second agony. ”Hang on, Cy, okay? It’ll be okay, just hang on,” Reid coos, his eyes blurring with tears.
As soon as Cy can manage a few deep breaths without the stabbing in his chest, the nurse lays him back down and he reaches for Reid’s arm. ”I want… Maddy… here. Please,” Cyrus begs through heaving breaths, his pain moving into a dullness that makes it easier to bear being awake. Seeing Maddy’s face again would make the pain attacks worth it, knowing he still had his Maddy.
