Oh I hope someday
I'll make it out of here.
Even if it takes all night
or a hundred years.
Need a place to hide
but I can't find one near.
Wanna feel the life outside
I can't fight my fear.

βRiver..?β nearly jumping out of his skin, River raised his line of vision to look at Theo. He was now standing in front of him, but Rin never even heard him come in. It was obvious that the marks on his body had caught Theo's attention as well as concern, and although River made no attempt at hiding them, he silently hoped the male wouldn't ask any questions about them. The point of coming this far was to run away from his problems. The last thing he wanted to do was talk about them. Thankfully, there were no questions. Instead, Rin was met with a kind smile and the offer for him to take the bed. River remained silent, quickly wiping away the stray tears with the back of his hand. He was afraid to speak, not wanting his voice to betray him. Theo then took the dry t-shirt from his hand and slipped it over his head. River's eyes never left the spot on the taller boy's chest, but he followed Theo's guide and slipped into the shirt. It was rather big for him, but it was dry and warm.
There was a part of River that just wanted to let Theo go. He'd bothered the man enough. He looked tired. No, exhausted, and his being there surely was not helping. But the other side of him, the side that wasn't used to this kind of care and attention, didn't want him to go. As Theo turned to leave, River's hand instinctively reached out. It caught onto Theo's wrist as he asked him to wait, but he instantly let go, afraid he'd somehow upset him. "I'm sorry-!" Had it been Blake, he would have instantly been met with a glare and a shove. Perhaps that's why, without realizing, River had taken a couple of steps back, the panic very clear on his face. His eyes met Theo's for a fraction of a second, but he quickly looked away, his words spilling out as his tears had. "I just, um- you should sleep on your bed. I don't mind." he paused for a moment, the panic only grew once he realized what he'd actually suggested. "I mean-! Not that you have to sleep with me- I can sleep on the couch. It's your bed, I don't want to take..." his words slowly began to trail off as he found it was probably best he just stopped talking. "I'm sorry, I'll just-" he gestured towards the bedroom door, suggesting he'd take the couch instead of Theo. He didn't want to sleep alone, but asking a stranger to sleep in the same bed as he was just asking to be insulted.
