It seemed almost like an eternity, but it was merely a few minutes at most that Markus was going from room to room, hallway to hallway, looking for anything that he could find. Anything at this point would be useful, even just a single document with the information they needed would be a help at this point. Something that gave them what they needed, anything at all. He knew he was on a time limit at this point, and that time was everything, and he had one last room to check. A large group of people turned down the same hallway he was currently walking down, his hands began to sweat and his stomach began to form knots. They were just part of the event, right? Casually he walked passed them, giving them the casual wave and smile as the group passed by them. They were busy talking amongst themselves to even notice him, nevermind pay him any attention.
After they had finally gotten out of sight, Markus made a b-line for the last room that he had to check, slowly he outstretched his hand and turned the knob, to only hear a click. It was locked. Great. Not only was he on a limited amount of time, but he couldn't leave any signs of entry or a break-in, especially if there was anything incriminating in this last room. Silently he waited outside of the room, listening for any footsteps or voices of people approaching, nothing. Now was the only time he had, people would start to notice he was gone and the last thing he needs is people starting to look for him. Silently and swiftly he took out one of the knives in his coat pocket and stuck in the door, trying to get in as none violently as he could. After a few minutes, he heard a click of the lock and it slowly creaked open, stopping halfway. Markus sighed with relief and stepped into the room, nothing was out of the ordinary at first sight anyway, it looked like any old office, a desk with a table, chairs and filing cabinets along the wall, art pieces hung all across the room, and lastly a small monitor was on the desk in the center of the room.
Markus looked around the room and closed the door behind him as he entered, making sure it left no traces of him being in the room. Casually and cautiously he examined the room, searching for anything he could find as proof or help. Nothing yet. He searched through stacks of papers, nothing except what he'd expect to find notes and basic information of what he didn't care about. Finally, he sat down in the chair and turned on the monitor, and to his surprise, a few tabs were left open. Nothing incriminating, just a few regular tabs, mainly pertaining to business and the like. He groaned silently to himself as he searched through the computer, nothing. Not a single thing. He even checked through the files, everything. Not anything that they were in need of. But he remembered Lucian saying that they had something they were after. Was he lying and simply trying to get him captured as well? He very well could have but he wasn't going to let that stop him from looking. Markus sat there trying to figure out what to do, when he thought of something. If they had any information, why would they leave it so easily accessible? He grinned as he began to open up some software and began looking for things he wouldn't normally, any backdoors to software that no one should normally have.
He dug into his pocket and took out a small USB stick and looked for an input for the harddrive, when he finally found it he began working his magic. Finally after a few minutes of searching blocked and hidden filed he finally found something, a supposed drop off location from two weeks ago and a potential meeting spot in three weeks. He grinned and swiftly downloaded the files on his hard drive and began to exit out of the software program he was using when he heard the door begin to rattle and click open, as it slowly began to open he stood up, stashing the hard drive in his pocket and forcibly turning off the monitor, just in time for three large, formally dressed men to step into the small room. "Evening, gentlemen." he said with a coy smile as he felt for the knife Lucian gave him that he stashed in his right sleeve, if all else failed, he was ready to fight as he looked at the men who grinned, and crained their necks to the side as they began to walk near him.
