She frowned as Luciana picked up the briefcase and dumped it on to the ground, causing the vials to shatter. Considering that the serum was exactly what Luciana had wanted from them working together, just recklessly destroying the whole container didn’t quite seem to fit. Something made her rewind the footage and pause it at the moment Luciana glances inside. The lighting wasn’t great, but Elena was pretty damn sure she was seeing what she thought she was seeing. One empty slot. Elena inhaled and exhaled slowly, sitting back a little and running her hands down her face. She didn’t want to jump to conclusions. But her trust in Luciana was fading rapidly, and she started to wonder if they’d made a catastrophic mistake in trusting her.
“He’s got a point,” Elena snapped into the mic. “If the pair of you could stop bickering and just get to the actual interrogation, that would be great. Oh for fu-“ she stopped herself as she realised that Luciana couldn’t hear her. “Shatter, phone out please,” she said, connecting to his phone and using it to project her voice, distorted ever so slightly to help protect her identity. “That’s better. I say they drag their sorry asses home and show their bosses what we’re made of. Bodies would also potentially trigger police attention, which I’m guessing you two don’t want,” she said.

“I have an idea.” He said, and took a few steps nearer to the one who was in charge. He sank into a crouch so he was staring at the man straight in the face. “Did you hear? You’re going to tell us exactly what will happen if you-“ The man reacted quickly, sweeping a leg out at Ash and knocking his feet from under him and interrupting Ash mid sentence. “Oh you piece of shit!” Ash swore, scrambling to pin the man to the ground with a knife against his throat. “I’m going to try again. Did you hear? You’re going to tell me what will happen if we let these men walk away, and you’re going to tell me in as few words as possible.” The man stared at Ash. Ash could almost feel the man’s resistance, fighting back against Ash’s ability. And Ash pushed back, pressing the knife in a little harder.
“They’ll be punished for their failure. Some of them are on their last chance and will probably be killed. Some of them will be sent out to attack you or other known mutants. Some will be reassigned to try and track down Minerva.” The man eventually replied, but Ash could feel him struggling the entire time. Ash held his position for a moment, before getting to his feet and walking away, careful to tread on the man’s hand as he did so. “So. What do we think now?” He asked, folding his arms.
