Jaiden smiled as Aurora mentioned she was getting close to understanding how to communicate with Melvin, which caused her to smile and chuckle a bit. Aurora did seem to have a natural affinity with that small creature, seeming to understand him more than Jaiden ever could. It would make sense, Aurora was a Fae, or well, Fairy, so it would make sense that she could talk with animals. She also nodded when Aurora gave her a grin about the flowers, and if she had any in mind that she would gladly make more, which she would gladly indulge her friend in. But before she could really answer or think of what to say next, Aurora got up and said she was going to check on the flowers for a moment, and watched but was taken back as the others gave their opinions on what they thought about the hunters, which caused her to go back to thinking about them.

Jaiden's mind had been distracted by several things, primarily by the notion of hunters in the town. She never had the luxury of running into one, yet. But what she knew about them, genuinely scared her. There was a group, a large one mind you, of specially trained individuals to track down and kill certain species within the supernatural world. The main ones she knew were Vampire, Lycan, and Witch Hunters, knowing full well that there were others out there, but those were for some odd reason the three most talked about Hunters. And they happened to be some of the most fearsome Hunters in existence. She was finally snapped back into reality when Phoenix began to talk to the next customer, with too big of a smile on his face. She barely even looked to the side until she saw what Phoenix was looking at, it was a boy, rather tall, slim, messy blonde hair, stark blue eyes, and pale skill.

She looked back to see Phoenix with that look on his face, causing her to slightly choke on her drink as she knew what he was thinking. "Jesus Christ, Phoenix. Really?" she coughed as she cleaned up the spilled coffee off of her, giving him a certain look in return, Phoenix would know what it meant all too well. Her eyes were somewhat squinted, her nose was partially upturned, tightly clenched jaw, and her arms were crossed. It was the look of disappointment and judgment, as he had indeed promised her he'd never fall in love with another pretty face again, albeit it was when he was incredibly drunk, but even then, he had made a promise and was doing well so far. But the last thing he needed right now was to form a crush on a random stranger, especially right after hearing about news of Hunters being in Greythorne...

Markus grinned when she mumbled something under her breath, normally it would have done undetected, but since his hearing was that of animal's, he was able to hear it clear as day. "Look, I didn't mean it like that. I just meant, that after you've lived as long as I have, and met as many other supernatural beings as me, you learn to pick up on things. It's not a bad thing, it's just something you learn when you have nothing better to do in your free time of a century.." he said rather bluntly. He didn't care that anyone knew how old he truly was, as it didn't matter to him, if anything it helped keep others at bay, if they had the impression of him being older than he was in appearance. He turned and looked when she grabbed his ankles and helped drag him back to Markus' humble abode, which wasn't as far of a treck as anyone would probably think otherwise.

As they had begun walking, Evelyn, if he remembered correctly began to speak again, he wasn't the biggest talker himself, more of a listener. But with the questions she brought up, he couldn't help but want to answer. He had too much time on his hands over the years, and he spent much of it learning. He knew if he was going to live for a long time, why not spend it the best way he could? Gather as much knowledge as he could, especially when it came to his past, and his relationship with Hunters. He finally nodded to her questions as he thought on what to say exactly, until he finally came up with the proper explanation, especially about the mark on their neck. "Well, first, you're very much so correct. Not all Hunters have them, just a small amount do, like our friend here." he said in motion to the man they were carrying back through the woods, if anyone were to see it, they'd suspect a murder, or maybe something else. But Markus didn't really care, not many people came into these woods, and those that did knew that someone watched over these woods.

Markus looked at Evelyn for a moment, and then back to where they were going as they continued walking, "Those that do have the mark, are what we consider rogue Hunters. Hunters that have either went against the Hunter's Code, or have been proven to be too dangerous and were given a mark. My best guess with these two? I got the sense of them being a bit of both, but if I were to assume, I'd say too violent. Even Hunters have a code to follow. And whatever these two bastards did went against it." he stated all too plainly as if he was simply talking about the weather or what he was going to do that day. Hunters didn't really scare him, but what did were the ones like this. Why would they be coming here? He doubted they'd be the only Hunters to come here, and he'd expect more to arrive at any point.

"Anyway, my home is just a bit further up this way. We can discuss more when we're behind closed doors. We don't know who else could be watching, or listening. Even though I don't sense anything, yet." he said as he looked back at the woman that was helping in carrying the Hunter. Something about her, seemed off. She wasn't like most vampires he met, especially not the new ones that he had met before. She was almost too human, and for her own good and safety. It was something he'd have to help her learn. While he wasn't the biggest fan of vampires, all considering his ast with them, he wasn't going to turn away one that was obviously too new, and in a way innocent to the world she was recently welcomed to.
