|| Fight Song|| Rachel Platten ||
Echo went back to sleep after taking three bites of a croissant. Alice watched her, reaching out to touch her. "No, let's not wake Echo up." Blithe lifted Alice away from the bed quickly. "Ch..o?" Alice asked, wondering what was wrong, why Echo was always so sleepy. "You silly girl, Echo's merely recovering her strength." Blithe pat her on the head, "Come on, let's go see what Rene is up to." As it turns out, Rene was busy making the beds. "Hello you two," she smiled, her purple hair glistening in the light of the evening sun that filtered in through the window. They were in Alice's room, watching Rene make the bed. "He...lp?" Alice asked, but Rene shook her head. "No, that's alright. This is my job," she pat Alice's head, the little blonde reaching up to grab her hand and settle it on her hair.
"Why does she do that?" Blithe asked curiously, watching. "I think she likes it when her head is pat," Rene replied, "she's probably never felt affection before now, this is her way of saying she wants more." Or at least, that was Rene's theory. Until Alice could speak in full, her thought would remain a mystery. Alice released Rene's hand and ran over to the slide, clambering up it and sliding into the ball pit. "Man, I wish I had a room like this," Blithe looked around with a whistle. Alice's room was a child's dream. Already, the toys from Elimine had been added to it. "We had to take out the bookshelf," Rene admitted, "she kept climbing it, so we put these in." They were lower shelves, wider ones so that the books could still fit. Alice could still climb them, but she could also get down on her own.
The door outside opened, it seemed that the others had returned. Alice looked up from the ball pit, hearing the front door. "Come on, let's go see everyone." Blithe lifted her out, shaking Alice off so that she did not take any of the balls with her. She waved to Rene as the door closed behind her, Blithe setting her down. "Hey, don't run off on your own!" The demon had to jog to keep up. "No, don't climb the banister!" She sighed, Alice had tried to slide down it. "Come here, stop running around! Gosh, how does anyone keep an eye on you?" Thank goodness the others had returned, Blithe didn't think she could keep this up much longer. "Hello Alice, we're back." Cal smiled, patting her head, Alice grabbed his hand, Cal lifting his arm up to let her swing from it.
They went up to Baron Pierce's office, Alice being given a bag of candies. She looked at it, sniffed it, wondering what it was. "You eat them, come, let's go try some." Sonata took her hand, leading Alice out of the office so that Ophie and Cal could deliver the news. Baron Pierce listened, his expression becoming troubled. "I'll be putting in a few calls now. We'll have to investigate, I'll arrange for further security around the estate as well." He rose from the desk, already planning on putting in the calls. "I have news as well, if you would mind calling Sonata back inside." Cal went to get her, finding her trying to wrestle Alice into a new dress. Alice had no interest in the clothing, she had been trying to climb the book shelf.
"He wants us all," Cal said, rescuing the human from Sonata's clutches. Baron Pierce sat down after finishing his call, "We've been summoned for tea at Baron King Messiah's castle. Tomorrow at noon."
