Duke stared hard at Ajax for some time. Everything coming out of his mouth was sincere but Duke didn’t give love advice, he was hardly qualified. "Don’t let others sink under your skin. I know it’s easier said than done but you have to stick to your own guns. Be your own person. Don’t get sucked into their worlds and views." That didn’t cover his Andy dilemma too well and even Duke felt like the conversing was incomplete. With a sigh, he continued. "Showing vulnerability is a good way to demonstrate trust. You got to stop fighting battles alone, nobody can do it."
There was thickness in the air before Ajax responded. "...I'll try." he finally said.
"At least if you see her you'll know you tried. You're at least giving her the common courtesy." Duke shook Ajax's hand firmly letting him know he still had an unbreakable ally as he took the med kit with his free hand.
Then they parted, Duke stranded with the medical bag in the middle of the Valis cabin. "Duke..." Alex called out for him.
For what he didn't know, but he headed towards her voice hurriedly and flung open the med kit. "What do you need? What's the matter?" She hadn't called him with urgency but his mind went to the worse. Better to be ready that way. He finally looked to Alex, her eyes miles away and staring vacantly at the ceiling. Duke seemed to understand then it was more emotional help than physical help.
He carefully sat on the edge of her bed, looking her over. "Do you want to talk about it?" Not that he was a particularly good therapist but if she needed to talk and unload, he was there.
After the long night and being there for the kids of Zeus, Duke crashed on their couch.
