With Josiah finishing his rounds with only one loss, Sapphire had a lot to aspire to. Sheā€™d gotten better in the past month, but she didnā€™t know just how well she would fare against these other trainees. ā€From Team Alpha, I.T. will take the place of Goliath.ā€ Sapphireā€™s first opponent was the fire guy, Blaze. She needed to keep away from the fire as much as she could. She produced a smoke bomb from her pocket, which had been redesigned to produce more condensed smoke in a smaller area, and she was training her vision to fight better in the smoke. She traced what she thought was the path to Blaze, and once his shadow started to foam, she planned a hard punch which she was aiming to hit his chest.

Cameron lessened some of his flames considering his opponent wasn't as big or indestructable as the monster he had just faced. Cameron was trying to not hurt the other team members. He wasn't expecting the smoke. He tried to look around to see if he could find his opponent but she found him first. He stumbled backwards a bit at the punch, as it surprised him. Cameron started tossing out fireballs, hoping he would hit her.

Two of the fireballs sizzled her sleeves and she hisses, moving back farther into the smoke. She plans her steps carefully, hoping to attack him from another side. When she gets to where she projects would be on his side, she runs forward and swings low, trying to knock her opponent off of his feet. She had to end this fast, or the smoke would dissipate and heā€™d find her a whole lot easier.

Cameron couldn't see anything and his opponent was quickly getting the upper hand. He couldn't tell if any of his fireballs landed a hit. He didn't want to keep throwing them in fear of hurting anyone else. Feet swept at his legs and he quickly landed on his back. The air was knocked out of him and his flames went out. The smoke disappeared and he could see his opponent. He smiled brightly and tapped the ground in surrender.

Sapphire was surprised to see him smiling as he admitted defeat to her, and extended her hand to help him up from the ground. She was trying not to be giddy in front of him but winning her first match made her full of pride. She was getting better at battling her teammates, and it was fulfilling to see that skill transfer over to new enemies. ā€From Team Omega, Copycat will take the place of Blaze.ā€ As the girl stepped to the mat, she remembered this one as the girl who could make copies of herself. She didnā€™t want to use the smoke for every match, so she would have to rely on her physical combat skills for this one.

Maggie took her place on the mat ready to prove that she wasn't weak. Not being able to beat the monster was only a setback. She was going to put this girl in her place. Maggie made 3 copies of herself and surrounded Sapphire. The best way to defeat this girl was to subject her to several fights at once. All of them moved up to her, one with a left hook, another with a kick to the back, while the other two bodies were waiting to jump in.

Sapphireā€™s eyes went wide when she was suddenly surrounded. She had no way to tell which one was the real version of her opponent, especially with all of her attacks hitting. Sapphire immediately dropped to the ground, rolling herself as far back from her opponents as she could manage and hoping that the distance would give her an advantage. She would need to focus on the directions of all their hits to find the one direction she could dodge.

All of Maggie's copies faced Sapphire. They all took completely different combat stances. One of the benefits of having different bodies is being able to be completely different people. Two of them moved towards her, one aiming high and the other aiming low. The other two stood behind to repeat the process.

Sapphire was being bombarded without a chance to formulate a plan or fight back properly. By the time she could attack one, another was coming for her at a different spot and she wasnā€™t able to keep up. She finally backed up enough to get to the edge of the mat, and voluntarily walked off to stop all of the attacks coming her way and held her hands up in surrender. As much as she wanted to tear that cocky smirk off that girlā€™s face, she didnā€™t have the intent to actually hurt her.

ā€From Team Omega, Lady Toxic will take the place of Copycat.ā€ Truthfully, Sapphire had been waiting for this matchup. She couldnā€™t tell what the girlā€™s ability was from watching a battle, so she wanted to experience it for herself

Ruby could tell just from the two matches that this girl was a thinker. She had a cute little focused look on her face when she was making a plan. And Ruby planned to take advantage of that. ā€I didnā€™t know they let cute girls become heroes,ā€ Ruby calls out from her side of the mat, catching Sapphire off guard. She grins at the blush on her opponents face, and charges straight for her. Sheā€™s able to tackle Sapphire to the ground, grabbing for her wrists when Sapphire hooks a leg over and flips the two so that Ruby was the one on the ground.

Sapphire was pushed off of Ruby quickly, and stumbled back upright as her opponent picked herself up off of the ground. She couldnā€™t let this- very pretty -enemy of hers cloud her focus. ā€This isnā€™t a fair simulation. Villains donā€™t flirt with the heroes theyā€™re fighting,ā€ Sapphire barks, rushing forward and punching Ruby in the stomach. Ruby steps back a few steps like sheā€™s badly hurt, then rolls forward and kicks at Sapphireā€™s feet, knocking her onto her back again. She took no time pinning Sapphire this time, sitting firmly on top of her and locking both wrists against the mat with a victorious grin. ā€But I still won, didnā€™t I? Ruby replies, letting Sapphire go and moving back to her team.

Sapphire didnā€™t want to lose her last battle, so as the next opponent was called to the mat, she grabbed her smoke bombs again. From Team Omega, Cyclone will take the place of Lady Toxic.ā€ She wasnā€™t sure if the smoke would work with his ability but she started the battle with an immediate smoke bomb and a low kick aimed for Douglasā€™ legs to knock him off of his feet. Before she could reach him to kick, heā€™d started a cyclone and the impact threw her away from him, as well as dissipating the smoke.

She landed on her back but quickly pulled herself off of the ground, throwing a few smoke bombs out of desperation. The smoke became too thick for her to adequately estimate his position, but she was quick to attack again. This time she did manage to land a punch on his forearm. It wasnā€™t enough, he was blowing her back with an even stronger cyclone and she hit the wall with a loud smack. Falling to her bottom, she was trying to catch her breath but failing, throwing another smoke bomb just as the second set of bombs dissipated.

Once she was back on her feet, Douglas was breathing hard as he tried to transform for a third time. She rushed at him, hoping to tackle him, but he had just enough strength and energy to grab her and throw her out of his way. She stumbled and rolled off of the mat, ending her final match with another failure.
