The young demon couldn't help but expel a sigh. "Hardly." he finally responded, hoping his one-word answer would end the conversation. However, Asmodeus has long since grown used to his remarks. "Fucking brat, is that any way to talk to your father?". Had he cared enough, Xul would roll his eyes. Instead, he focused his attention on settling into the driver's seat as the demon continued to speak. "I think sometimes you forget who you're talking to.". The voice switched from the earbuds to the car speakers as the engine roared to life and Xul quickly pulled out of the parking spot. "Believe me, I haven't forgotten." he muttered, the image of his gruesome childhood days at the hands of his father were still painfully vivid even centuries later. "But you seem to forget that if I really wanted to, I could kill you with a tap of my finger." There was no denying that, regardless of whether Asmodeus admitted out loud or not, Xul had grown to be a powerful force. Even more so than his father.
For a moment the line was silent, but just as Xul thought he'd freed himself from the pointless conversation, a hearty laugh rang through the Tesla speakers. "That may be so, but if it wasn't for my training, you'd be nothing.". At this, Xul couldn't help but let out a sarcastic laugh. Loud enough to silence the older demon on the other end of the line. "Training huh? Is that what we're calling it now?" he muttered, a bitter taste lingering on his tongue as he recalled the torture his father had put him through for many years. Now he chose to call it training. Deciding he was finished with this conversation, Xul's finger hovered over the touch screen as he aimed to hang up the call/ "Do me a favor a burn in hell."
The line went dead just as his engine picked up speed. He was already late to his first scheduled meeting of the day and the little encounter with his father had completely ruined what sliver of a good mood he had. The rest of the drive was silent. Much to Xul's delight, his father was smart enough not to try calling again. Soon enough, he made it to the designated meeting spot. The GODZ Ent. building towered over its surroundings, the small rays of the sun that leaked through the clouds reflecting off of the freshly cleaned glass windows. Once parked. Xul made his way to the entrance. There waited his manager, one of the only humans he could actually stand being around. That's not to say he didn't have the urge to strangle him from time to.
"Nice of you to finally make it, Xul PD. Decided to be fashionably late, I see." Benji's smartass comment rolled off his tongue as he handed Xul a stack of papers that the demon assumed was the contract which would bind him to GODZ entertainment for the next few months. "Fuck off." he muttered, though unlike most times, there was no malicious intent behind his words. "Did you read through the contract?" "Obviously." he lied. He hadn't looked through a single page. Not that he needed to. Every piece of important information typed out into the pages entered his head as the two made their way up to the meeting room.
