The day had started out just normal, except there was no screeching rooster to greet the dawn. Courtesy of Echelon's stomach that had started rumbling in the middle of the night. And it made Gloriana late to her chores which mostly consisted of caring for the camp's horses. This she finished quickly, and was soon practicing her swordplay on and off Damson...
This was all according to plan for Gloriana, but for Echelon? It was not. Her human rider hadn't even bothered to check in on her since yesterday's embarrassing sideshow. Well, it wasn't exactly embarrassing for Echelon so much as it was for Gloriana... Who had fallen off more once. The second time she ended up getting her foot stuck in the saddle and was half dragged, half flown around the whole camp, knocking a few tents over here and there. To be fair, it wasn't Echelon's fault and even today she would say it was Gloriana's fault for treating her like a horse.
And now, Echelon was laying in a tree watching Gloriana throw her sword around with some Knights.
How boring...
She licked a claw, enjoying the taste of the fawn she had found and killed earlier that morning. If only it had been just a bit bigger. Alas, all she could do was lick the remaining blood off her claws before jumping out of the tree with a creak. The ground shook softly when landed in the grass. Her wings unfolded as she stalked across the open space, moving more like a cat than a bird, or a reptile. She snuck up behind him, and in one swift move, yanked a few strands of his tail out whilst also moving to side to avoid getting kicked.
"Sorry, thought I saw a big hornet on your tail." Her voice was smooth and calmer than her color would suggest.
