Liam noticed that Trinity lept out of view via a sudden dash of blond hair behind one of Wes' shoulders. The man just sort of sucked on his teeth for a second and swept his attention to Wes. "Wes, my dude!" he greeted unabashedly, giving poor Wes an all-too hard punch to the shoulder that was meant to be more of a tap, but wasn't.

"I'm guessing you're here for Trinity," Wes assumed with a sigh, and Liam didn't blame him. If that little dash of blond meant anything, it was that Liam is ruining what is probably a lovely morning for the couple. On a normal day, he wouldn't dream of doing something like this, but Sloane was kind of a priority at the moment. Sylas was haunting his mind - especially after Trinity made him feel about one inch tall for not killing the asshole when he should have. He knows something is coming. He can feel it in his gut. Maybe it is his prowess for combat tactic or just some new pervasive fear, but Sylas wasn't going to stay away for very long.

Then Trinity finally emerged. Just to make a dramatic flair of it all, he put a hand against his chest and feigned surprise, "Oh, shit - didn't see you there!" Then he added insult to injury and gave her a really dumb grin, "Nice dress." It was clearly in jest, but Trinity was well within her rights to hate him. Now that he knows that she's his sister, he is also well within his rights to be a dumbass brother. Liam was in no short supply of dumbass.

"This probably requires appropriate clothes. I can meet up with you guys in a minute.” He gave her a thumbs up and then looked at Wes, "She hates me." Yet, it didn't sound like something he was disappointed by. In general, people hate him.

He glanced over Wes' shoulders and kind of winced a time or two as the woman abused the drawers in his room. Then she re-emerged, and he wasn't going to make further jokes about her clothes. Trinity was here to help, and he's more than grateful for that. Teaching women how to fight was not his domain. Teaching anyone how to do anything but pump some iron was not his domain. He could help Sloane with a lot of things, but fighting dirty is a woman deal. He's pretty sure of that, anyway.

“How do we wanna do this, chief?" Trinity questioned, but then she looked over at Sloane.

"I have some thoughts but figure you've been here longer and I don't know shit about this god stuff."As Wes tossed the water bottle, he caught it, popped off the lid, and just about sucked the entire bottle into his mouth. The plastic crinkled, and it didn't appear he took a breath at all. He crushed what wasn't already flattened and started the walk. He let the ladies take the lead and hung around the rear, but still within hearing distance.

"Have you hit someone before, Sloane?" That inquiry seemed to draw Sloane's gaze back to him, and while he wasn't particularly skilled at trying to help one's confidence, he tried. He gave her a thumbs up and a quick encouraging smile. "No, but I've made one person hit another."

He leaned closer to Wes and dropped his tone, "What does it mean when you hit on a woman and the woman you are with is upset by it, but she is still saying that I should do my thing? On a scale of 1-10 - if I stared at another woman's boobs and told her that I would do bad things to her in front of said other woman, how much trouble am I actually in? And should I stay away from other women for the rest of my life?" Whenever Sloane would look back at him, he would just smile at her and pretend like he's not trying to figure her out by talking to someone else.

After a bit of guy talk, Trinity and Sloane seemed to stop and Liam was following their lead. He had intently allowed the two to chat amongst themselves before he approached. "My thought was that we teach her how to defend herself," he advised, looking between Trinity and Sloane. He held both of his hands up, palm out in defense of himself before any questioning begins, "All she has to do is get her hand on someone, right?" he looked to Sloane for confirmation. It all sounded rather simple when she sort of explained it earlier before the party. "We just have to train her to utilize quick defensive movements - brushing a hand away, whatever it may be - to allow her to use her own power to do the fighting for her. I mean, think about it."

Oh, this was going to come out all kinds of discombobulated, but he meant really well. He took a few steps back to avoid the wrath of his own sister, and maybe even a scathing eye from Sloane. "We're on a different playing field. Even in the normal world, people train for years to learn how to fight. We are not going to train Sloane in a day or even a week. She's small, so right there she's disadvantaged against at least more than half of the camp. But she knows her powers, so she just needs to learn how to use them to do the fighting for her. But her power is control over another person. It's no small power. It has... endless uses in a fight. You probably know the folks around here better than me. I think I dropped out of school before I learned anything about mythology. You're more experienced in this area..."

Just as it seemed that he might turn away and let the girls do what they do, Liam slowly turned around. He stared at Trinity for a few quiet minutes. It was really just a couple of seconds, but it felt like a long time. His hands clenched and unclenched as he tried to find a soft way to put this. "She just needs to stop being afraid to do what she has to do. She has no confidence. You can teach someone to fight... but that won't mean anything if... you know..."

He kind of just gave Sloane this cautious sideglance. There really wasn't another way to ease into that. Sloane was meek and gentle, and he wasn't sure that would translate well when it comes down to Sylas. There was no if with Sylas. It was a matter of when, and that could happen anytime. He stepped over to her and gently grasped her right shoulder, "Just tell yourself that today is the day you're not going to take any more shit. You got this," he released her and gave that same shoulder a much more gentle pat than he had Wes earlier.

That said, he turned away and made for that log to plop his ass down.
