AJ glared at her brother as he parked in front of Kenneth Myers's house. The arrogant, obnoxious lacrosse player tormented her for most of grade school and is currently the main force keeping her off the lacrosse team. The last thing she wanted was to attend one of his parties, but a family rule of 'sticking together' her mom created forced the siblings to go to events together or not at all. Marcel had begged and pleaded for her to agree to come and AJ agreed, after he promised to do her chores for the next two weeks. The already loud music became louder as they approached. AJ dropped her shoulders and groaned in annoyance. Werewolf hearing is sensitive and tuning sounds out is a skill Grandpa didn't spend a ton of time teaching her. AJ stopped her approach, crossing her arms with a disgruntled expression.
"Look, I know you don't want to be here and Kenneth isn't your favorite person in the world." Marcel sighed, a pleading expression on his face. "I'm still the new guy on the team. And Kenneth said if I didn't show then I'd stay on bench for the rest of the season. You don't have to talk to him and we can leave in a couple hours if you want." AJ knew Kenneth was doing a sick power move by allowing her brother on the lacrosse team instead of her. She was better, stronger, than Marc, but the boys on the team refused to see it. AJ punched him in the arm, but by the way her brother rubbed his arm, the werewolf strength might've come out. "Whatever, dusty. Maybe we can get you a little better at lacrosse so you don't need to kiss ass."
AJ couldn't count the amount of people in house, but she could smell all of them and the puking, sex, and beer smell was nauseating. It wasn't that AJ didn't like parties. However, not being able to get drunk and going wild with people who didn't like her was less than appealing. She turned to talk to Marcel, but found him talking to Kenneth, ditching her like always. If that wasn't bad enough, the sight of Tommy Jackson doing a keg stand surrounded by a crowd of cheering fans, chanting his name. Tommy embodied everything she hated in one person: an overly confident jock who walked in and instantly became the school hotshot. His charm was dangerous and, thankfully, AJ was immune. Something was off about him, supernatural in some nature though she had no proof. Thus, their rivalry began.
A cup of beer was placed into her hand by a passing classmate, whom gave her a quick wink. AJ smirked, taking a drink despite the gag she hide from the cheap, disgusting, beer. She needed a distraction. The classmate who gave her the beer was Hannah Reed, cheerleader and past prom queen nominee. Following her into a crowded dance floor? Anytime. AJ set down her drink and followed that fiery red hair into the crowd of dancers.

Partying at a spoiled rich kid's house? Any day of the week. Tommy was one of the first to arrive at Kenneth's house. The team was having a pregame before everyone else arrived. The rookies on the team weren't allowed, but Tommy had made the winning shot that allowed their team to qualify to go to state so his attendance was allowed. Plus, Kenneth likes him and is already talking about making Tommy captain after he graduates. He smiled and nodded at Kenneth's grand plan to continue his legacy with him. Internally, he was rolling his eyes and wondering how Kenneth didn't get headaches from his giant ego.
The cheers from his one minute and fifteen second keg stand would be the talk of school next week. King of the Keg is apparently his new title, according to a group of girls talking about nearby. Being a kanima has it's perks, like hearing who is talking about him or when his so-called rival arrived. Adeline Juneau. The jealousy radiating off of her was very telling, as well the scent of a supernatural. She was something, not that Tommy knew... yet. The supernatural might be the key to finding out why he remembers Beaumont Hills. AJ and him met eyes and Tommy returned her glare with a flirty smile and a wink. Getting on AJ's nerves is the highlight of his week, though she thinks otherwise.
"TOMMY! You are the man." Kenneth appeared out nowhere, pulling Tommy into a bro hug. "You beat my record, bro. Damn... we a-are going t-to STATE! W-we did it... man. H-how are you... not w-wasted?" Kenneth's drunkenness was not surprising. He always went too hard and has probably felt up every girl at this party. "Guess I need to do another keg stand then," Tommy joked as he put Kenneth into a head lock, ruffling his hair. They may act like bros, but Thomas couldn't stand the guy. Too much pompous and arrogance, but a good friend to have if you didn't want to be an outcast in high school. Kenneth laughed before stumbling after another girl who walked by.
Tommy spot several familiar faces at the party, some new and some old. However, the real eye catcher was the alcohol table. The bartender was clearly out of their element, because everything tasted like piss. His heightened senses was a godsend when it came to mixing beverages. Cheap liquors can be good if done right. So Tommy made his way to the table putting his sensitive senses to good use.
