She instructed Evelyn to put Travis down on the couch instead. The vampire obliged, and Rosie found herself with both Evelyn and Neden looking at her for guidance, asking what they should do. She’d never asked for a leadership role like this. But at some point it had been thrust upon her, and she had never been one to run away from a challenge. Even as tempting as it could be sometimes. She sighed, running a hand through her hair.
“I need both your expertise. There hasn’t been a vampire attack… of this kind,” she added quickly, but Evelyn didn’t seem too troubled by the comment, “here in years and I’ve never dealt with one. I don’t know what to expect,” she admitted. “I don’t know what’s going to happen, I don’t know how I’m supposed to deal with this.”
She sighed and shook her head a little bit. “Mostly I just want company,” she admitted. “So I’m going to pour myself a glass of wine and whatever snacks I have, can I get either of you anything?” She asked, already heading into the kitchen. She didn’t even know if this was the type of thing that they could even do anything about, but she knew it wasn’t the type of thing she wanted to deal with alone. Pulling out three glasses, she carefully balanced them, along with a bottle of wine and some chips as she went back into the sitting room.
