"Sorry," Anastasia gasped, clearly registering her actions. "That would be wonderful, thank you."
Jisun nodded shortly, before responding to Anastasia's previous statement. "It's not really brave at all. It's just something one does, isn't it?"
Afterwards, Anastasia retreated to her room with a brief wave. Jisun stood up after a few moments, going to her room as well to change into more comfortable clothes before making dinner. She opted for an oversized black graphic tee and a pair of black shorts, tossing her old clothes in her hamper before going to the kitchen.
What to eat today . . . I'm feeling lazy, how about some ramen? Jisun grabbed a package of Shin Ramyun, her favorite spicy ramen, from the twenty-pack she had carried in a few days ago. In North Korea, Shin Ramyun was known as the expensive shit. One package cost around 2500 won in the black market, which was way too much of one's monthly salary to consider eating. Jisun never had package ramen as a child; it was funny to think that the drastic 2500 won from her childhood was now only two dollars that Jisun could throw around without a care.
Jisun dumped the entire spice packet into the pot as the water began to boil and the noodles cooked. She then tossed in some of her leftover tofu and vegetables, cracking an egg into the mix as well. After the ramen finished cooking, Jisun plopped onto the couch, flicking through Netflix until she landed on her current favorite -- Crash Landing on You.
Jisun's taste in movies and TV combined thrillers, political dramas, and action-horror films (which people did expect from her) with cheesy romances that may or may not have an actual plot (which people firmly did not). Crash Landing on You was a romance, through and through, but Jisun was fond of it, mainly because in a roundabout way, it reminded her of the North Korean prison guard who escaped with his prisoner and managed to make it to the South. Ah, the occasional successes of idealism.
Jisun distantly heard a door opening, and assuming that it was Anastasia coming out of her room, she called out, "if you want dinner and don't have anything to eat, you can take my ramen from the pantry. No skin off my back."
