Cedar, after watching his brother leave in a fancy magic carriage and his sisters leave on a fancy magic ship, had been thoroughly unimpressed by the incredibly normal train on platform 9 & 3/4.
Now that he's sitting on it, however, he sees the appeal- no seasickness or fear of heights.
He's also been fairly lucky, having found an empty compartment that isn't bracketed by noise on both sides, something he can't say for most of the compartments he'd passed to get here.
The compartment isn't empty, however, presenting Cedar with his first chance to make a friend.
"Can I join you?" He asks the other boy, a little too casually. He can hear his mother scoffing. "I want to read before we arrive, but everywhere else is far too loud..."
