E V E L I N A KLIMA
Eve was still smiling as they were sitting down and the train went through the tunnels under New York, towards the outskirts of the city. She shrugged in a friendly manner when Jeff joked about not being able to handle the mischief again. The train wasn’t too crowded, but enough people that Eve would still be able to people watch. She enjoyed creating stories in her head about whatever person or group of people she was watching, sort of making up little TV shows about them. Most of the time they were way off of what the people actually did, but there was no fun in a boring life to Evelina.
She was brought out of her daydreaming and people watching when she overhead Jeff say something, mumbling a question under his breath. “Why am I like what?” Eve asked in response, not entirely sure what she did to warrant a question like that. Jeff quickly cleared the air saying it was about his roommate and not her. Evelina caught a glimpse of the messages on the phone, well, emojis. “Oh…” Quickly turning towards the window and just staring outside, trying to hide the redness of her face. “I’m sorry, but I’m not like that. I mean, I have, but…”[/color] She trailed her sentence off without finishing it.
Jeff quickly spoke up, trying to say that he wasn’t that type of guy and speaking quickly. Eve found it cute as he continued to talk, being a bit awkward and trying to convince her she was attractive. “It’s okay, Jeff I-” Evelina was quickly interrupted as the train car announced they had arrived at the stop that she and Jeff would need to get off. “I guess this is it. I’ll let you lead since I have zero idea where we are or even going.” She said as she stood up with Jeff with a light smile. Eve followed him out of the train car and onto the platform, gripping and pulling her jacket over herself. It was worn and sort of old, so she wasn’t able to button it up as most of them had either fallen off or the holes for the buttons ripped.
