Squinting, her vision was still blurred from the pain. She could tell by the paved concrete beneath them they were no longer in the diner, but she couldn't remember how she'd gotten there. Looking over beside her, she recognized Erin's platinum blonde hair even if she couldn't make out here features.
Struggling to recall her last lucid memory, Xan closed her eyes again rubbing them with the back of her eyes as she sat upright. Nixie's look of horror flashed in her vision, it was all starting to come back to her now. Looking behind them, her eyes took a moment to adjust to make out the diner. She could see through the windows the interior had been destroyed. Her brow furrowed, that sharp pang releasing another stream of memories of flying objects and the sound of splintered wood and screams.
"Nixie?!" Xan called out with concern, remembering that Nixie had been in the diner with them. She looked around, just realizing a crowd had gathered behind a line of Police all staring at Xan and Erin. Xan shrank into her shadow, still sitting on the road beneath them.
"Uhm...Erin." Xan's hand went to Erin's instinctually, desperate for something - anything, to tether her. She was grateful when she felt that contact, realizing it'd been the first time she felt human contact in a very long time....too long of a time.
