The nurse put her foot down about Dominic remaining in the infirmary overnight. Trinity had attempted to stay through the night in the hospital bed with him, but she had gotten caught. She was anxious the whole time she was away and returned in the morning as soon as she was able. Sapphire and Josiah stopped by as well. They were all talking and horsing around as if nothing had happened. It was Team Alpha’s way of trying to move on. Between card games, bored games, and normal trainee gossip, it made the time pass. The nurse cleared Dom to sleep in his own room. For the rest of that week, all of Team Alpha would continue to rendezvous in the room to make sure their teammate was doing okay. He still hadn’t been cleared to train or do any extraneous exercise. As promised, Trin and Dom kept the contents of their talk to themselves as they were figuring it out. When left alone they would lay in the same bed, cuddle, and hold hands. It was relieving for the pair. Josiah and Sapphire kept their own promise to one another and managed to withhold the secret of Goldmine refusing to see her brother. There was no reason for Dom to know. After a week Dom was finally cleared to train like normal. An official debrief had been completed and the Hero Service had taken upon themselves to find the Stranger.
A month passed by in the blink of an eye. Training for Team Alpha had maintained its high level of intensity. As they get stronger, the agents have to change it up. Sleep was a luxury and days off were precious. However, the holidays were coming up and all of the Trainees wanted to be able to celebrate. It took lots of convincing from everyone, but they were given permission to go and buy gifts in the city. And with even more begging, they were allowed to have a holiday party in the facility. None of the teams were able to go at the same time and extensive security was provided for each trip. While out, Trinity and Sapphire took it upon themselves to pick out outfits for the party as well. All of the trainees were extremely excited to partake in this event. It was expected that everyone was going to attend. Food and drinks were going to be provided by the facility. Except for some security, the agents were going to leave and allow them to have fun.
Trinity was beyond excited about the party coming up in a few hours. She had taken the time to pick out the right gifts for all of her friends. Though she had to strategically hide them in her room since all of Team Alpha casually walks into the room multiple times a day. They were wrapped and labeled. Her outfit was hanging up in a garment bag. She had promised to get ready with Sapphire after all the decorations were done. ”Happy Holidays mom. We will talk later.” She said on her way to the training arena. It was the biggest space in the facility and it was cleared out for the party. She hung up her phone and stepped through the door. It was beautiful. ”Saph, you have outdone yourself.” She said. If anyone didn’t know better, they wouldn’t have thought that this used to be a training ground. The Christmas tree was the best part. It was extremely tall and heavily decorated with beautiful ornaments. The star was bright. Trinity already knew that Sapphire’s gadgets helped her make this room look amazing. The tables were already set up for food with space for a dance floor. ”Okay how can I help? I wanna speed this up so we can get ready.” Trinity stated excitedly.
Josiah wasn’t the most sentimental on Team Alpha. He wasn’t very good at gifts, but they were given permission to get gifts for everyone. It took longer than he would like to admit, but he got gifts for everyone. He was really hoping that they all liked them. Hiding his gifts, however, was easy. His room for the most part was always empty. Sapphire practically moved in with Ruby and only stops by when she runs out of clothes or gadgets to mess with. He did have to make a second trip out of the facility since he discovered the party was a formal one. Josiah doesn’t have anything formal and the last formal clothes he wore was on a mission months ago. It took him just as long and several facetime calls with both Maggie and Sapphire before he found something that would look good on him. The outfit was hanging up, ready to go. He was walking around in workout gear however, because he had agreed to finish up decorations for the party. Sapphire was practically in charge of it and all she had to do was say please with puppy dog eyes. Josiah folded pretty quickly. He helped put up the giant and heavy Christmas tree, but he wasn’t done. Though he was hoping that he was. He wanted to lounge around in his relaxing clothes before being put in a stuffy suit. Josiah waltzed through the door. ”Oh. It looks like you are basically done. And Trin is here which means I don’t have to do anything.” He said with a smile on his face.
