Freddie slumped. Her eyes narrowed into slits over pouting lips. She had hoped to engage Silvia in small talk. To get to know her camping buddies. But it seemed she'd have to wait another day. She nodded at Aurora, then Lilith, in greetings, and followed the other girls inside.
…Inside.
"Water, please, Freddie answered Lilith. Her wide eyes wandered around the sorceress' house. Her dad would call this 'ostentatious.' She forgot what it meant, but the word sounded appropriately fancy. Freddie wandered towards a kitchen window and looked out. The very window frame felt like something out of a fairy tale. She peered over her shoulder at Lilith when the latter posed her question. "Mmm…She's still, uh… not exactly pleased." Her lips turned up into an apologetic smile. "But… Reese is… strong. The strongest… person I know, actually…" Freddie nodded. "She just needs time."
Freddie looked around again, feasting her eyes on the sorceress' taste in decor. "Whoa… these curtains alone…" She brought a pale, bony finger towards them and tapped, tapped, tapped. "I bet they cost more… than Reese's rent…"
It was then that Freddie noticed Lilith talking to Cassie- or Meridian? Cassidian. She turned around to greet her. "Yooo…" But her errant elbow stuck against a vase, and…
Crank!
Freddie's eyes widened. A dozen pieces of china laid by her feet, a mess of blue and white that seemed even more expensive broken apart… especially since she might have to pay for it.
"...Oops."
Her snow-pale cheeks were tinted a bright, rose-like red. "I, uh… sorry." She looked up and down, her mind racing with ways to placate the good professor. She held up a finger and suggested, "You know, kintsugi pottery is… really hot right now…" The damp-haired girl pointed two finger guns Lilith's way. "And I know a guy… who… knows a guy… who knows... another guy… who's… really into ceramics."
Freddie wiggled her brows for emphasis.
Then cleared her throat. "...But anyway… no dream powers for me." She turned to Aurora, and her gaze softened with sympathy. "...I hope you won't walk into… any… naughty dreams…" Her voice dropped into a whisper. "I had a naughty dream, once. It involved a pair of biker boots, calipers, a trout, and-"
Freddie whipped away. "Ah… nevermind."
