Jei jumped, startled by the man suddenly speaking to him. The young Miraluka hadn't been paying much attention to his physical surroundings, as he was distracted by the emotions he could feel coming from Ahala on the other side of room. "Oh-uhm," he fumbled for an excuse but found nothing.
The man didn't wait for a response. "I’m Rex head of the 501, but I’m here to watch out for you guys and Ahala,” said the human. Judging from where his voice was coming from, Rex seemed to be more than a head taller than Jei.
Jei nodded and fiddled with his fingers behind his back.
“She’s gonna' work herself too hard. She’s gonna' fall asleep right there reading that map,” Rex said looking at Ahala.
"Y-yeah..." He muttered and thought for a moment. He titled his head to the side and faced toward the front of the ship, his curly bangs falling in front of his mask. "Are you two close? Uhm- sir?" Jei asked.
