Then the dinner bell sounded and he heard Piper calling them in the distance and he tensed a moment, startled out of his thoughts. He glanced down at Cressida when she added that they should head back. She was helping the angel earlier? That was so kind of her. He offered her a smile and nodded. They did need to get back. But when he looked at the stranger again, he felt a strange need to protect her. There really wasn't much he could actually do though. She was more powerful than he, and he didn't know how to actually fight. Was it really okay to leave a wounded angel out here in the middle of the forest? He couldn't think of where else he could take her to keep her out of sight. Why they would be punished if the others saw her didn't make sense but she was the angel so she knew far more than he, and had her reasons.
"Yes, we should go. If we don't, the others will come looking for us and be worried, maybe even Watcher or Wolf would come." He looked back up at the angel and put on a brilliant smile for her before he gave her a flourishing bow. He would have reached out for her hand to kiss her knuckles, but he didn't think she would have taken to that very well considering her unease. "Fear not, my lady, we will not tell a soul that you are here. Your wish is our command." When in doubt, get into character. And the situation felt tense. He could see both the angel and Cressida were nervous and he wanted to try and dispel some of that negativity and put a smile on their faces. It didn't usually work with Cressida but he hoped that it did ease her mind on some level. "Though I should warn you, there are bears here. Emil told me they don't usually attack people, but they can, and do devour flesh, so please stay safe, Miss Angel. Cressida and I will come by later to bring you more food and bandages and a blanket to make you more comfortable so you can heal quickly."
He straightened then and returned his attention to Cressida. "Come on. Let's go." He and Cressida turned to head back towards the house. As they moved further away, he paused and glanced back at the angel one more time and gave her a wave before they moved out of sight as they made their way back up to the main part of the garden. "She was a very pretty angel," he said to Cressida then. "I wonder what happened to her, but it looks like it is up to us to help her. And are you really okay? Did you need something, Cressida? I heard some of the other kids were being bullies earlier. If you need anything, you can always come to me."
