Richard perked up to listen to Henry, Akiko, and Sheri discuss the situation with their current lead, something about a truck driver, a burger stop, and some imported car parts. There was something coming to his mind as well that sent a slight shiver through him as he started to consider it more in depth. They were shipping these drugs all the way across from the Pacific? Or perhaps just ingredients? It seemed odd honestly. If this was a smaller criminal organization, it might make sense that this was their only way of getting to North American consumers, but they were supplying the Witchfinder Generals. That didn't sound like a small organization to him.

So why ship something to North America when they could just make it here instead?

Only really two answers to that made sense; either the products they needed couldn't be made/grown/etc. here, or... They were in the middle of expanding their operations in North America. If that was true, this truck driver might end up revealing much more information to them than they had initially perhaps thought. If they were lucky.

He opted to keep his thoughts to himself for now. Richard could be wrong, and he didn't want to stress anyone out more than they already were. Instead, he scrolled through his phone, catching up on news from around the world:

An upcoming Interfaith Conference was coming up to be held in Cyprus, to be attended by various leaders; from the Pope to the Archbishop of Canterbury; from North American Baptist Conference higher ups to Imams; from Rabbis to Buddhist Monks; from Shinto Priests to members of the Atheist Alliance International. Seemed the topic of discussion was going to be trying to push aside some differences in belief to discuss how Religious (and non-religious) Supers could work together on the threat the Beast of Decay posed.

President Gordon Ford had just announced a 'Bipartisan' Bill to boost the US military budget, with a special focus on Supers in the military. Already social media was alight with bitter comments from both sides of the spectrum criticizing it. Richard decided to scroll past it for now, figuring he could read angry internet comments later.

There was news updates on various military conflicts around the world, that sent his stomach into knots of both fear and anger. He'd have to ignore that too. For now...

Finally he came across various updates on crimes from around the area, paying particular attention to anyone that was going to be getting off a little more 'lightly' than Richard would like. A few caught his eye, and those that did sent that sensation of fire welling up inside him. That sense of pure rage, and the craving for violence...

Fire... Richard felt heat, and heard screaming. He looked back to the beach to see a flaming, shambling corpse making its way up, marching towards... Devon? Someone from Freischütz's past perhaps? Something Richard would have to ask about later, but for now there was work to do.

Sasha, Klaus, and Devon all reacted fast, containing the issue to a small part of the beach as quickly as they could.

As if Richard had to deal with ANOTHER monster that crawled out of the ocean. Was he cursed or something? His thoughts went back for a brief moment to falling into that rocky, fiery pit again, before being brought back to reality by Henry's voice over his ear piece.

The White Death let out a soft sigh as he stood from the table, combing his fingers through his short, soft hair to brush it back again. He grabbed his leather jacket and pulled it on over his blue polo shirt, dusted off grains of sand from his black jeans, and donned a pair of black sunglasses, before walking over to his new weapon of choice.

Richard placed a hand on the red painted metal, leaning casually on it as the battle on the beach persisted. The metal under him got cooler and cooler, and the water inside began to be pushed into an increasingly smaller space, towards a singular point which Richard had chosen to be its weak point.

As the flaming zombie charged Devon, chainsaws wrapped around its hands, it felt a mighty force slam into the blades and cause them to turn away from the direction of Pyromancer's target. A powerful blast of ice cold water, filled with gleaming razor shards of ice, now stood between the two. Pyromancer could see the origin of this icy water was a fire hydrant up on the boardwalk near the shops, and a man casually leaning against it, an amused smirk on his own face.

"Not quite the cold reception you were expecting I'm guessing?" He called out to the zombie. "I think California's had more than enough Inferno's to worry about, so how about you walk yourself and your chainsaw hands back into the water and just stay there?"
