"Theo-"
"I'm not allowing you to leave until you explain, so I suggest you start from the beginning." Though his words could be interpreted as threatening, the tinge of worry rid them of all malice. Jake's fingers idly drummed against the armrest of the chair as his nervous gaze scavenged the room, perhaps in order to avoid Theo's piercing stare. After a couple of drawn out seconds, a sigh of defeat left Jake's body, his shoulders visibly relaxing into the plush seat. "He told me he needed to talk to me about something important." the explanation began as Jake's body leaned forward, elbows resting against his knees."We met up. He said..." the pause seemed to drag on almost too long, as if Jake were processing the conversation all over again. "He said 'Jake...I love you. Please be my wingman.'" the heartbreak that rose up with Jake's words almost brought Theo to his feet, his mind already paging through the countless curse words he would be throwing at Salvi later. "I thought...I thought he was going to say something else." Theo's index fingers gently massaged his temples as he muttered a bloody hell. He lifted his gaze towards Jake again, taking in his expression. He seemed warn out. As if he were tired of being tired. "What did you say?" the pause that followed was enough of an answer for Theo. Jake's words simply confirmed. "I said sure...why not?" Theo's next response was promptly interrupted by a steady knock at the door. Parker walked in after announcing himself, nodding once towards Jake. Theo dismissed the two, forcing the conversation with Jake to sit on the sidelines as he returned to his desk.
Minutes turned into hours, and before long, it was time to meet up with Victor and his informant. Theo had debated waiting for calling for Jake, but after their morning chat, he decided the guy needed a break. He'd told him to take the rest of the day off, and instead asked Parker to act as his second bodyguard for the night. He and Salvi insisted on driving Theo, but that would hinder the young boss' plans for after the meeting. Instead, he asked them to tail his motorcycle as they rode to his chosen meeting spot. It was the first day since the beginning of autumn that the weather allowed for a bike ride, and Theo chose to take advantage of it. He'd made sure to dress warmly enough to fight the chilled winds, while still maintaining professionalism. He only hoped that Victor had brought along a jacket.
About ten minutes after their arrival, Max and Aaron announced they were on the way. The emptied night club had been scrutinized and meticulously scanned from top to bottom to ensure there were no surprises. Theo had done his research beforehand, scoping into the lives of anyone associated with the Boston police and its' chief in command. He had an inkling of who would be walking through the door with Victor, and the moment they did, it as confirmed.
"Hector Fieldings." Theo's voice was kept low, his dark gaze watching the newcomer's every movement. "Pleasure to have finally met you."
