Carrie sat up in bed, looking around the room. She pulled her knees to her chest, balancing on the heels of her hands, she glanced at the black cargo pants she wore, she would've been shoved into a plain white dress or something like that, but the guy who had tried to force her had gotten a bloody nose and a kick to the gut. He didn't like that very much. She swung her legs over the side of the mattress, her feet touching the ground. She looked around the room, a tiny stream of sunlight filtered between the steel bars of the one window in the room. She walked over to it. She slipped her hand in the small space in between the bars. Her fingers touched the glass. She dragged her long fingernails over the surface, feeling for the tiniest crack, or a spot where the glass was thin or any weak spot. She flicked the glass, and waited to see if it would have any effect, she felt the glass give just the tiniest bit, and a little hope flooded back to her. She looked around. The doors were locked of course, so she made her way to the unisex bathrooms, not exactly her cup of tea, but oh well. She splashed cold water over her face, making her really wake up. She shook her head, releasing the water from the tips of her hair that had been sprayed as well by the spicket.
She walkedback outside, fingering her belt, though nothing was going to happen for a while. She punched the air, hooking her arm around as if she were actually fighting, at least it was better then laying in bed.
