“It’s more like he found me,” Elina cleared her throat, slightly wincing at the faint pain of speaking, now regretting screaming bloody murder at stupid illusions. “When I didn’t see him in the garden this morning, I thought I’d lost him for good this time. I should probably cast circles in the woods from now on.”

Elina wasn’t feeling much better by the time they reached the infirmary, but she fortunately didn't feel much worse. Suddenly she became more aware of the boy’s hand on her arm, the fact that she should go but some part of her didn’t want to. What is wrong with me? I don’t even know his name, she thought furiously, staring at him without realizing it.

She reminded herself of manners and stuttered,“So, um, thank you-“ Elina’s words died immediately as she mentally slapped herself on the forehead for not remembering his name. She smiled awkwardly, clearing her throat again. “I’m sorry… I don’t really remember your name. I know I should, but everything’s just been distracting, I guess...” She trailed off, at a loss for words and mentally slapping herself over and over for the situation she'd unwittingly put herself in.
