Character I am using: roleplay/the-manic-mind-of-man/characters/jane-blackmore

Setting: Inside a forest; the details can be discussed.

Additional info: Please don't turn this into a one-upmanship of who got the most OP powers, decide on your set of powers and restrictions prior to battle and stick with it! Use strategy and creative thinking to come up with creative applications of your powers that isn't 'BOOM! SMASH!" and don't randomly throw in any cheap plot twists out of the left field that have nothing to do with the battle at hand. Meat shields and diversions allowed; ruthless tactics are allowed as long as it makes sense for your character to use them. If you understand what kind combat sequence I'm looking for and are trying to improve myself in, then please respond. I would be interested to hear from you. :)

Bubbling water echoed against the damp moss covered rocks and trees, while indigenous fauna created natural songs through their calls. Thin, angled shafts of light pierced the ever-changing canopy from the west, as it was near to sunset. Trees, some thick and old while others were thin and young, sprouted up out of the densely covered ground, and reached to meet the shafts of life giving light. Smaller streams, that sprouted from the ground, gathered slowly through twists and turns into larger and larger streams until the last one rushed through the forest finally finding an end as it was deposited into a small hidden pond.

Outstretched, like a begging hand, over the pond was a flat-topped rock, its underside green and wet while the top was smooth and dry. With a rustle of the underground, a blue-black blur slipped from the ever-growing shadows onto the top of the rock and crouched low. A faint bluish glow vanished quickly as the creature stood upon two legs and surveyed the area with blood red eyes. Twin black ears perked and twisted at the sounds that it picked up, trying to register where each was coming from and what was making them.

Standing three feet eleven inches tall, the lithe creature didn’t look like much, but looks were very much deceiving in the wild. Upon the back of its forepaws jutted short, round bone like spikes, with a third protruding slightly from its chest, the fur that surrounded the third spike was a cream-color while the rest of its fur was blue and black. Four black appendages rose slowly from their slumped position upon his neck and shoulders, and again a soft blue glow began to emit itself around them. His nose twitched and he sniffed the air. The fur upon his neck and shoulders slowly raised at the irritation that permeated the air. There was something amiss about the entire area, but even through his naturally heightened senses and his ability to perceive the auras of others, it was hidden from him.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost;
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
