Vampires are magically reanimated human corpses which are inhabited by the spirits of the deceased person and who closely resemble the living human they were before their transformation. Vampires can be born or made, those being born inherently stronger than vampires that were created. Vampires feed and survive on the blood of the living, typically on that of humans, and they can also transform other humans into more of their kind by sharing their own blood with them. However, some vampires have been documented to survive solely on the blood of animals, yet their powers are much more weaker than those who feed on humans.

strengths: super strength, super speed, super durability, super healing, super agility, immortality, enhanced emotion, emotion control (can turn off all emotions and so have no humanity), mind compulsion (can compel most species to do their bidding but not other vampires or werewolves), dream manipulation (can watch, be in and control the dreams other another person)

weaknesses: broken neck, decapitation, fire, heart extraction, vervain (poisonous), sunlight (witches enchant rings or other jewelery to protect them from it), werewolf bite, sessile oak (stake through the heart)

Werewolves (also called Lycanthropes, Loup Garou, Rougarou, Beasts, or even just Wolves for short) are a supernatural shapeshifting species of individuals who unwillingly transform into large, fearsome, and extremely hostile wolves on the night of the full moon. Even in their human form, werewolves possess superhuman physical prowess, though their abilities are not as powerful compared to those they possess on the full moon while transformed. These creatures are the most dangerous enemies of vampires due to their venomous bite, which is lethal to them. They usually appear in human form and can shift to varying degrees into a bipedal wolf-like creature with increased body hair, fangs, and glowing eyes.

strengths: super strength, super speed, super durability, super healing, super agility, lycanthrope enhancement, shapeshifting/transformation control, slow ageing

weaknesses: silver, moonlight (transformations and/or losing control), decapitation / broken neck, wolfsbane, heart extraction, fire

A Fairy, also known as fay or fae, is a type of mischievous mythical being or legendary creature in European folklore, a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical, supernatural, or preternatural. Fairies are generally described as human in appearance and having magical powers. Diminutive fairies of various kinds have been reported through centuries, ranging from quite tiny to the size of a human child. All fairies have wings, that they are able to conceal and reveal at will, and like zebra stripes no wings are alike. Fairies are typically born to different elemental families in which their powers come from ranging from fire to spirit.

strengths: transformation - (they can change from their small, colorful and winged form into a more mundane, human-sized form with ease.), healers, protective spells, elemental control - (they normally can control one aspect of the elements that they were born into; spirit, light, water, etc.), gold-colored blood, extremely agile, invisibility

weaknesses: salt, pure iron, destroyed nature - (they are weakened in areas of pollution or destruction of nature), holy water

Witches and Wizards are supernatural beings who are born with the power to affect change by magical means (Witchcraft). While many witches are the self-proclaimed "Keepers of the Balance," other witches have been known to work against the Balance and use their power for personal gain. The origin of witchcraft remains unknown, however, it is known that witches have existed for many centuries passing down their knowledge and skills through generations of family lines. Contrary to popular belief, witches do not receive their powers from demons, nor do they worship the Devil. Instead, witches consider themselves "the Servants of Nature," as they make it their duty to maintain balance within the world.

strengths (basics - all witches)

spell casting - found in grimoires or through word of mouth.
channeling - elemental, ancestral, sacrificial, etc.
potion brewing - found in grimoires or through word of mouth.

(pick two)

telekinesis (of large objects)
pain infliction - commonly painful migraines.
elemental control
divination - taught at the academy.
possession
illusions
dream manipulation
necromancy / resurrection - very rare and dangerous, comes with a price.

weaknesses: interruption - (they need full concentration, especially for powerful spells.), mortality, overexertion - (powerful / extreme spells weaken them and some can kill them, signs of overexertion include bleeding from nose and ears and feeling faint / dizzy.), nature - (a balance is always found whether by other witches or by nature itself, certain magic comes with a price.)

The banshee is a human woman with the ability to access the supernatural and is a harbinger of death. They are known as the Wailing Woman. Banshees are human in appearance with no power to shapeshift nor any superhuman abilities. As such they have the same physical tamra and mortality as the regular human being. A person can only be born with the banshee trait, they cannot be made. Though banshees have supernatural abilities, they are not actually supernatural beings as in the manner of a vampire or a werewolf, they are not controlled by the supernatural. They are instead able to access and manipulate the preternatural forces to their will. Due to this, a banshee is immune to general supernatural phenomena. A banshee experiences premonitions of one's impending death. Their predictions appear to them as factors that will be the causal factor of near- or affirmative death experiences. A banshee's predictions are not set in stone and do not always come true.

strengths: clairaudience - (allows them to be naturally tuned into sound levels in the universe that only they can hear, such as the details of a person’s death (ie. whispering, screaming, electricity, fighting, etc.)), premonitions, harbinger connection - (all banshees possess a telepathic connection to each other and to hell-hounds. They can communicate with one another regardless of how far away they are. Sometimes they can summon hellhounds to aid them in danger.), banshee scream - (their most important and valuable power. It can be used to achieve various effects such as death announcements, premonition enhancement or as a concussive scream. This scream can be used as an offensive weapon, when being given force and direction it can produce so much power that it can shatter glass, overload electronics and can create a blast so strong it can throw people across a room.), supernatural sensitivity - (they are able to sense, seek out and identify supernatural energy (ie. supernatural creatures in their vicinity, hearing whispers and screams of the dead))

weaknesses: mortality, high-pitched noises, psychological turmoil - (they experience trauma due to being constantly surrounded by death. Many of them are mistaken for being mentally ill as they can see and hear things others can’t, often behaving strangely due to the passive aspects of their powers.)

Despite their stunning beauty, mermaids are extremely dangerous and they have the power to decide the fate of any ship they come across. Merfolk are related to the sirens and are very similar. In most myths, merfolk use the combined power of their beauty and voice to lure men into the sea, either to bring them down to live in the merfolk realm to quell their loneliness or to drown them out of humour or spite. Some merfolk are benevolent and have been known to rescue drowning humans, while others are monstrous and have a taste for human flesh and blood.

strengths: transformation - (an enchanted ring is given to a mermaid when they turn thirteen, this allows them to live and breathe on land for a limited amount of time but they must return to the water every now and then to avoid dehydration), slightly enhanced senses, zoolingualism, fast swimmers, aquatic adaption (gills and tails), immortality, hydrokinesis, voice compulsion (like a vampire a mermaids' song has led some to their death), telepathy

weaknesses: fire, dehydration, sonar (they're hearing is extremely sensitive so loud noises and pitches can be disorienting)

Shapeshifters, or just called shifters for short, are a race of supernatural creatures who can take the form of any human being or animal or both (depending on their bloodline).Their eyes change color depending on their mood, and their brain patterns also change when they shift. A shape-shifter's ability to shape-shift is dependent on the individual's talent: certain shape-shifters may only have enough power to transform into a small creature, such as birds or cats, though their powers could also advance overtime. A shape-shifter is the person who always seems to find a way to fit in, regardless of the circumstances. Shape-shifters have lots of interests and, depending on the situation, they can easily blend into several different groups. While their talent of "fitting in" is a gift that not only serves them well but can benefit the people who quickly relate to them, it can often leave the shape-shifters feeling confused about where they really belong.

strengths: shapeshifting - (most shapeshifters can only transform into animals or into other humans, who they have to have seen with their own eyes before. However, on the rare occasion a shapeshifter is born of parents from the two different bloodlines and inherits both genes.), creating mirages - (experienced shapeshifters are capable of making themselves look different to each individual), obtaining abilities - most human shapeshifters are able to obtain the physical abilities of the person they transform into (i.e. when shifting into a vampire, they obtain super senses and strength, vervain burns them, etc.). however they will not obtain physiological, mental or emotional abilities (i.e. no blood lust, etc.).

weaknesses: overexertion - (being in a form that is not their natural one for too long can weaken and, in extreme circumstances, even kill a shapeshifter. This is also the case if they shift too many times in a short period and if what they shift into is much larger or smaller than them / the changes are hugely significant from their original form.), pain - (shifting into a new animal or human for the first time can be painful for the shapeshifter and without proper training and practice, it may continue to be. This is especially the case if what they are shifting into is significantly different from their original form.)
