• Practices days and times along with game days will be posted on this page not the events page. So if your own a sports teams make sure you check this page often to know when you have practices and games.

• All students must maintain a C average (or better) to participate in sports. If your average drops below the minimal average you will be placed on academic probation and while you will still be required to go to games you will be benched during the game. It will be up to your coach to decided whether or not you can still practice with the team.

• You can only play one sport per season. So you can't be on football team and cross country team because they both take place during the fall season. You can play football in the winter and than play basketball in the winter as they take place during separate seasons.

• Prior to game days, players will be giving a form by their coaches that their teachers from every period must sign. If the game time coincides with one of your classes this excuses you from that class. If you miss school but go to the game you will be benched unless excused by a parent or guardian. If players fail to have their forms signed and returned to their coach they will be marked down as either absent or cutting by their teacher.

• As a freshman or sophomore if the team you wish to play on has a junior varsity and varsity team than if you get on the team you make junior variety first.

The Cross Country team practices can be scheduled from Monday - Saturday. When practices are scheduled on school days they run from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. On Saturdays practices are from 8 am to 10 am. The Cross Country team is tough. Practices vary greatly in distance. Recovery runs may be only 3-4 miles, whereas a workout may be as much as 3-4 miles warm-up, 2-3 miles of workout, and then a cool-down of maybe 1 mile. So, if you plan on joining this team you better be ready to run your butt off because Coach Carre doesn't mess around and slackers will not be tolerated. If you are a runner and you want to better yourself as well as make a bunch of wonderful friends the school's Cross Country team could be the perfect place for you.

One of the most hard-working and ambitious teams here at Hollywood High - the football team. While others athletes at Hollywood High are returning to school and getting back into the swing of vigorous practices and workouts - the players of the football team have been sweating it out and working hard all summer. Heck! Coach Hastin has been working those boys since May with his crazy spring practices. Being both the coach for the varsity and junior varsity team those underclass man get no special treatment. Some say Coach Hastin is a bit of an extremist but, if that's what it takes to bring the championship home he has everyones permission to keep running those boys into the ground.

Having practices usually everyday after school and on Saturdays too - between homework, studying, practices and of course game day - you have to wonder how any of these players have social lives. Practices can be anywhere from an hour to three hours long taking place either in the weight room or on the field.

If your considering joining the football team you better be thinking about more than just popularity and cheerleaders. It takes a lot to play on Coach Hastin's team and he has been know to have players puking up their insides on the sidelines. If you join this team you better be ready for long practices, spending hours in the weight room, and hearing a lot Coach Hastin's screaming in your ear to the point were it's literally ringing.

In 2013 the Girls Golf Team won the team divisional tournament, which made them CIF Champions! They didn't have the same luck that following year but the fact of the matter is they were champions and could possibly be again. We realize that golf isn't one of the most interesting sports in the world, but if it floats your boat why not join the team. Seeing as there is no golf course on school grounds the ladies on the golf team get to practice at the Riviera Country Club. Because they're is no course on school property they typically have practice on the weekend. Practices are from 11 am to 1 pm.

With tennis ones has to ask their-self "What type of player do I want to be"? Captain, Doubles Player, Singles Player. Tennis is special in the sense that you don't have to play partner unless you want to. If you feel like your better on the court alone, you can be a singles player. If you feel like your not up there with the William Sisters and you'd rather have somebody out there with you, you can get a partner and play doubles.

Like with every other team at Hollywood High, the tennis team is all about practice, practice and more practice. The tennis season is only a two month period but that doesn't mean these girls don't have to work hard if they want to win. Fortunately for the tennis team there are courts at the school so they don't have to give up their weekends for practice time. The tennis team practices on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30 pm to 5 pm unless they have a game.

While these girls weren't having practices all the way back in May, like the football players the volley girls had a busy summer. They had volleyball camp followed by practices from July to now. Practices over the summer went from 2 pm to 6 pm. With school back the hours have changed 4 pm to 7 pm. It may be a lot of hours but by early November their season comes to an end and all those mandatory practices come to an end until July rolls back around.

The Boys Water Polo season starts off with them competiting in the three day Ayala Varsity Tournament. Both the junior varsity and varsity team compete in this tournament. The junior varsity team also competes in both the Diamond Bar Tournament and the Damien JV Tournament. The water polo team practices on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Establish the Program: Each athlete is a valuable member of the Hollywood Sheiks Basketball Program. The conduct of each player is expected to positively contribute to the overall reputation of the program. The girls basketball season like the boys starts at the very end of November and their season ends around the second week in March. The varsity team competes in the Palisades Beach Invitational Tournament, which is set for Nov. 25-30. In December they have the Battle at the Beach tournament that takes place at Redondo Union High School and Las Vegas Holiday Classic tournament.

Like with their male counterparts the team practices Monday - Saturdays. The times vary but practices are normally from 4 pm to 7 pm during the school week and are from 9 am to 12 pm on Saturdays.

Our number one priority is to develop more than just soccer players. Our program aims to develop people. Character development is woven seamlessly into all soccer instruction. Building people is a crucial part of Building a successful legacy High School program. Athletics is a great platform to learn a lot of life lessons! Hollywood Soccer develops young men to play at the collegiate level and prepares them to be successful in life. Our program teaches a possession style of team soccer. Our belief is that in order to play at the next level, every player must be able to keep possession. Our Facility is one of the top grass fields in the county. We take pride in providing the best field, instruction, opportunity to develop as a soccer player and as a person.

Another team with a summer program that kept their players working hard during the summer is the Girls Soccer team. In June the girls week through a week long summer camp followed by playing two summer games, one in June and the other in July. Considering how others athletes at Hollywood High spent their summer baking under the hot sun for longer than a mere seven days - these girls had it considerably easier than others.

As far as the regular season goes, they play one game in November that kicks off the season and it runs until around the second week of February. Practices for the team are usually about two hours long and are usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Coach Wilson is the coach for both the boys and girls water polo teams. As the boys water polo team season ends in the beginning of November, the girls season kicks off in the beginning of December, which gives Coach Wilson about a month to starting wiping the girls into shape before their season starts. Just like the boys water polo team the girls have practices on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Within the two month span from December to February the girls will be playing in three separate tournaments.

The softball team holds practices on tuesdays and wednesdays. On tuesdays practices are from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. On wednesdays their practices are from 2 pm to 4pm. The baseball team and the softball team typically have games that coincide on the same day, so usually when the baseball team has a home game the softball team has an away game and vice versa. During their season they play in two different tournaments.

The swim teams' entire season takes place in the month of April. There is a total of five meets during their season. Tryouts takes place at the start of March and once the roster is out practice begins. While most practices will take place in the pool the swimmers on this team will also be hitting the weight room. Practices are on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

The mission of the Hollywood High School Track and Field program is to provide each student-athlete the opportunity to reach his or her full potential in speed, endurance, and strength. The Sheiks Cheerleading Squad is the only year round team. In the fall they're on the sidelines of the football field cheering for players on the field. During the winter season they move from the field to the court as they stand court side and provide spirit and motivation for the ballers on the court. After two seasons of cheerleading on other teams and performing dozens of half-time performances it is time for the cheerleaders own season to begin. Six time consecutive champions of the Cheerleading and Dance World Championship the Sheiks cheerleaders have been number one in the state since 2002. They're competition will be taking place at Walt Disney World from April 25-27. They're practices takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 5 pm.

Practices can be anywhere from an hour to three hours long taking place either in the weight room or on the field.

If your considering joining the football team you better be thinking about more than just popularity and cheerleaders. It takes a lot to play on Coach Hastin's team and he has been know to have players puking up their insides on the sidelines. If you join this team you better be ready for long practices, spending hours in the weight room, and hearing a lot Coach Hastin's screaming in your ear to the point were it's literally ringing.

In 2013 the Girls Golf Team won the team divisional tournament, which made them CIF Champions! They didn't have the same luck that following year but the fact of the matter is they were champions and could possibly be again. We realize that golf isn't one of the most interesting sports in the world, but if it floats your boat why not join the team. Seeing as there is no golf course on school grounds the ladies on the golf team get to practice at the Riviera Country Club. Because they're is no course on school property they typically have practice on the weekend. Practices are from 11 am to 1 pm.

With tennis ones has to ask their-self "What type of player do I want to be"? Captain, Doubles Player, Singles Player. Tennis is special in the sense that you don't have to play partner unless you want to. If you feel like your better on the court alone, you can be a singles player. If you feel like your not up there with the William Sisters and you'd rather have somebody out there with you, you can get a partner and play doubles.

Like with every other team at Hollywood High, the tennis team is all about practice, practice and more practice. The tennis season is only a two month period but that doesn't mean these girls don't have to work hard if they want to win. Fortunately for the tennis team there are courts at the school so they don't have to give up their weekends for practice time. The tennis team practices on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:30 pm to 5 pm unless they have a game.

While these girls weren't having practices all the way back in May, like the football players the volley girls had a busy summer. They had volleyball camp followed by practices from July to now. Practices over the summer went from 2 pm to 6 pm. With school back the hours have changed 4 pm to 7 pm. It may be a lot of hours but by early November their season comes to an end and all those mandatory practices come to an end until July rolls back around.

The Boys Water Polo season starts off with them competiting in the three day Ayala Varsity Tournament. Both the junior varsity and varsity team compete in this tournament. The junior varsity team also competes in both the Diamond Bar Tournament and the Damien JV Tournament. The water polo team practices on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

The girls basketball season like the boys starts at the very end of November and their season ends around the second week in March. The varsity team competes in the Palisades Beach Invitational Tournament, which is set for Nov. 25-30. In December they have the Battle at the Beach tournament that takes place at Redondo Union High School and Las Vegas Holiday Classic tournament.

Our number one priority is to develop more than just soccer players. Our program aims to develop people. Character development is woven seamlessly into all soccer instruction. Building people is a crucial part of Building a successful legacy High School program. Athletics is a great platform to learn a lot of life lessons! Hollywood Soccer develops young men to play at the collegiate level and prepares them to be successful in life. Our program teaches a possession style of team soccer. Another team with a summer program that kept their players working hard during the summer is the Girls Soccer team. In June the girls week through a week long summer camp followed by playing two summer games, one in June and the other in July. Considering how others athletes at Hollywood High spent their summer baking under the hot sun for longer than a mere seven days - these girls had it considerably easier than others.

As far as the regular season goes, they play one game in November that kicks off the season and it runs until around the second week of February. Practices for the team are usually about two hours long and are usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Coach Wilson is the coach for both the boys and girls water polo teams. As the boys water polo team season ends in the beginning of November, the girls season kicks off in the beginning of December, which gives Coach Wilson about a month to starting wiping the girls into shape before their season starts. Just like the boys water polo team the girls have practices on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Within the two month span from December to February the girls will be playing in three separate tournaments.

The softball team holds practices on tuesdays and wednesdays. On tuesdays practices are from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. On wednesdays their practices are from 2 pm to 4pm. The baseball team and the softball team typically have games that coincide on the same day, so usually when the baseball team has a home game the softball team has an away game and vice versa. During their season they play in two different tournaments.

The swim teams' entire season takes place in the month of April. There is a total of five meets during their season. Tryouts takes place at the start of March and once the roster is out practice begins. While most practices will take place in the pool the swimmers on this team will also be hitting the weight room. The Sheiks Cheerleading Squad is the only year round team. In the fall they're on the sidelines of the football field cheering for players on the field. During the winter season they move from the field to the court as they stand court side and provide spirit and motivation for the ballers on the court. After two seasons of cheerleading on other teams and performing dozens of half-time performances it is time for the cheerleaders own season to begin. Six time consecutive champions of the Cheerleading and Dance World Championship the Sheiks cheerleaders have been number one in the state since 2002. They're competition will be taking place at Walt Disney World from April 25-27. They're practices takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 pm to 5 pm.
