Tachi/Neko - Refer to the personality type of each person in the relationship. Tachi refers to the person who is more socially dominant, and the one who actively seeks out the other. Neko refers to the person that is usually more reserved/socially awkward and usually will not actively seek out romance or attention.

Seme/Uke - Refer to the sexual preferences/positions of each person in the relationship. Seme refers to the person who is dominant and/or 'giving' while Uke refers to the person who is submissive and/or 'receiving'. These terms commonly apply to same-sex couples.
