Starry Night Bar/Inn

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Aelita on Fri Feb 02, 2007 11:08 am

Starry Night Bar/Inn is a small two in one place for people who need that drink or somewhere to stay for the night. We are also accepting waiters/ress at the moment.

Starry Night is a three story colonial Inn that resembles that of a home with cream concrete and dark brown wood boards lining the sides. The front porch is the length of the front of the house and extends about eight feet away from the house and leads to a small stone sidewalk that reaches to the road and another bigger sidewalk. Next to the small sidewalk close to the bigger one is a sign that says Starry Night Bar/Inn: All Welcome. It is surrounded by a forest of pine trees.

When you walk in you can see the desk where you sign in to your right and to your left is a small cussioned bench and ahead of you is an open door way. When you walk through the doorway you are greeted with a small halway leading to a staircase but just before you get to the staircase there is another door way this one covered with a door. When you go through it you immediately see tables with chairs, a long wooden bar to the right, and a stand for shows on the far wall ahead of you.

When you turn around to go back to the hallway and up the wooden stairs you walk a little ways and then are greeted with two hallways. One leading straight ahead and the other leading to your right. These hallways are somewhat wide. Wide enough to carry luggage and such and still have someone pass by you without bumping into them. Down the right hallway there is four doors on your right and four on your left. At the very end on the far wall is a vending machine. Going down the hallway that is straight ahead of you there are six rooms on the right and left with vending machines at the end of it as well.

Just before you get to the very end though you see a staircase to your right that leads to the owners bedroom and storage room of the Starry Night. That is dissallowed access to anyone unless told by the owner of the Starry Night.

The night was dark and the stars shined dazzling bright as they hovered over head of the Inn. Jesta walked up the stone path to the Inn's main doors. Taking her key, she unlocked the doors. It was the first time that these doors had seen the sight of company in over a year. Jesta had business to take care of else where so she had to shut down her beloved inn until she was done. Now that she had fully completed her obligations, she returned to the inn to hopefully start anew.

Walking through the doors she let them easily shut themselves behind her as she continued walking. Looking from wall to wall her heart started to pound faster in her chest. It had been so long, too long, since she had been here. She wasn't going to do that again, hopefully. Flicking on the lights in the hall and in the main lobby where the guests could eat and hang out, she then made her way over to the front desk. It had a moon crest on the front for all to see. Walking through the arch she reappeared behind the desk. Running her hand over the books and clear space that she had left behind made her wish she had never left. Now that the place was set up, she now needed customers.

Name: Alexandra (Alex for short)
Sex: Female
Age: 14
Appearence: Shoulder length black hair, and brown eyes. She's wearing a black shirt, the sleeves of which she got tired of long ago and took off at the shoulder, sewing it so it looked like it came that way. She also wears black jeans and white shoes.
Personality: Alex has trouble trusting people, but is an open, friendly person once she decides to open up to you. She's an amazing person to be with, as long as she decides to accept you. She's more on the boyish end of the spectrum, and rather adventerous.

He stood in front of the vending machine. The lull and dull noise vibrating against his ear drums. The hallway was silent. His blonde spiked hair was less still than the stagnant oxygen of the building. He wore a jean jacket and jean pants. He had on a white t-shirt that said, “No, your face.” it was written in bold black letters. He gazed over the machine. It taunted him, he had enough for one item. He was trying to figure every combination he could, to get more than one thing. He was hungry, the growl of his stomach occasionally overcame the hum of the machine. His eyes glanced back and forth. “How dare you torture me…” He thought, grimacing at the non sentient machine. It was like dangling carrots in front of a horse that has been fenced up well. He could see what he wanted, but could not get to it easily. He gazed at his open palm, recounting his money over and over. It all, surprisingly, came out to the same amount every time. His sapphire eyes glance back at the machine. It mocks him by showing his reflection.

He hesitates…

The sounds of coins hitting the bottom of a, changeless, machine throng through the hallway. After a moment a thud is heard. He unwraps his reward. He enjoys it in his self gratification. Smirking, thinking he has won the war. He waits for the rest of his change to drop.

Silence…

He waits a moment longer. “You’ve got to be kidding me!” He yells out, just before he hit’s the side of the machine. Before he has anytime to contemplate, he is working his way down the hallway, using the snickers as a way to vent. His legs carry him to the front desk, where he his prepared to fight for his change.

Alex looked over her shoulder as the man came in, munching on some candy and looking angry. She put a hand to her abdomen, realizing she was also getting hungry. Getting up, she searched through her pockets, but didn't have any money.

'Damnit,' she muttered.

It was quiet so far and it didn't seem like anything was going to disturb it. That is until a loud noise could be heard near the vending machines. Jesta jumped immediately and a shout could be heard but couldn't make out what was said. A moment later a man came charging in with a candy bar and he didn't look too happy. A feeling of dread came over her as her mind raced to think up something to say.

"Is everything alright sir?"

She asked as politely as she could. 'Is everything alright??? Are you crazy!? Of course not! He's pissed!' She fought with herself until she shook her head and looked at him apologetically. "I'm sorry, is it the vending machines? They act up every now and then. I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience. How much change did it take from you and I will replace it." She said typing in numbers on the register and the door popped out with a 'ching'. There wasn't much money since she hadn't had much business but there was plenty of change.

Akishra saw the woman open up the cash register, and saw the glint of change inside. Wanting to come by it as honestly as possible, she walked over to the woman, looking humble.

'Excuse me,' she said. 'But may I please have some spare change?'

Jesta blinked as if dumbfounded then looked to the woman who had asked her for some change. She rose a slim eyebrow as she looked at the girl. "Some spare change? I'm sorry but this is my salary, which is pretty much nothing." She said watching the girl wondering why she would be so bold as to ask for some change from a woman that was running the cash register in a hotel.

Alex bowed her head. 'Yes, of course. I'm sorry, but...' she shook her head. 'I'm sorry. It wasn't my place. But...I need to eat,' she went on, holding her hands over her abdomen, below her stomach, which protruded slightly.

Jesta tilted her head slightly as she watched the girl. "Do you have money to stay here?" She asked than added, "And there is food available at the bar which gets added into your bill so you won't have to pay until you leave here." She said pulling out a clibboard that had a form on it.

Alex looked up at her, a little sad. 'No,' she said. 'I'm sorry, I don't have money. But I can work to earn my board,' she said. 'I'll do anything...Cook...Clean...Anything. Please...All I ask is a room and meals, though the types of food and times of the meal, not to mention size, may varry. But I promise, I'll work to earn back everything I eat.'

His vengeance was quelled as soon as the woman opened her mouth. He watched over her reaction. His hand had taken the change before he had thought to thank her. Someone interrupted his gaze over the woman. -Some spare change?- He thought to himself. -What the hell is this idiot thinking, what kind of business would hand out money for no reason?- He listened over the girl's excuses, her neediness.

-If jobs were handed out this easily, there would be no poor in the world.- He looked back to the woman at the counter. "Everything is fine now...However, do you need help with-" He tilted his head to the side, pointing out the girl asking for jobs, food, and money.

His gaze locked with the cashier for a moment. For that small moment, he figured this little Inn would do. However cheesy it was. He thought to himself,- What is a place like this without a pool.- He then regained his attention and focus. It was tough never being able to concentrate on one thing for long.

Jesta's gaze kept going back to the man when she noticed he was watching her deal with the girl. Looking to the girl it took her a moment to reply before looking back to the man. "No, it's fine. Thank you." She said to him with a smile than returned her attention to the girl hesitantly replying to her question of working for food and board. "Well...I don't have anyone helping me here...I guess we could use a cook?" She suggested with a smile.

Jesta wanted to help the woman but she also realized she needed a bit of help around the inn. So far it was just these two and she didn't know if the man was going to stay.

Looking to him she smiled pleasantly. "Is that enough change?" She asked figuring it was than continued, "And were you going to get a room? There isn't anyone else here so your room will be close to here for easier access to the bar."

Alex smiled. 'Thank you!' Then she remembered she'd had a sugar craving, and wondered when she might get some. Well, what's wrong with a cook sampling the product? she thought. I can use that to satisfy my cravings.

Looking at the woman, she asked, 'When can I start?'

He glanced back to the woman, then the change. "Change is never enough." A smirk falls upon him. "I figured you would have remembered me already checking in." He turned away from the two before he looked back. "I'm the one you mumbled something under your breath when I told you I would choose my own room." He dug in his pocket, pulling out his room key. "However, if you do not remember, I would gladly like to skip on the paying part as well. Although, I'm not near ready to leave."

(ok...? o.o Thank you for telling me! ^^)

Jesta had a puzzled look on her face. She seemed to be dumbfounded, she was dumbfounded. Looking to the side as she brought her hand up to her cheek she tried remembering but couldn't. His words about him choosing his own room seemed familiar but other than that she couldn't place him. Jesta shook her head sadly. "I'm sorry, I don't remember but since you have the key I doubt you're lying." She said as she wished she could get a new brain.

He turns his full attention to her, wondering where the new cook ran off to. "You really believe that? You do not even check your own keys?" He held them closer, revealing the fact that they are just normal house keys. He found himself rather entertained in his little scheme. "Really I stopped by for a quick night's rest. Until that blasted machine decide to wage an infernal war against me." He looked Jesta over once more. "However, that is fixed. I would like to obtain a room for the night. Somewhere... Close to you." He smiled a bit. His voice sounded off in a way that would seem both dashing and scary at the same time.

To Jesta it was like a smack in the face and she nearly fell over when she looked closer at the keys. She was beginning to get irritated with herself. She let out a soft sigh in reply as she looked down at the counter with nothing senseable to say. Hearing his request her face grew a light pink as she looked at him.

"A room close to me?" She echoed than turned to the set of keys she had hanging up on the wall. Finding that all of them were there made her feel even more stupid. She didn't know whether to take his words as menacing or as a compliment in a way. Looking over the keys she grabbed one with the number 12 and handed it over to him but kept a firm grip as she brought out a form for him to sign.

"Just fill this out. The room is at the end of the hall." She said quietly, the blush finally retreating.
