Terminus. A Fantasy game with classic Tabletop Play online

This will be a real by the numbers type game. I’ll be playing the role of GM seriously so the players (you guys) will build characters and then post in the form of what they think and what they are attempting to do. I will then roll dice and use the numbers you’ve chosen to determine the outcome. In other words its form table top D&D with a different world and system, one that is of the high fantasy variety.

The world:

This is the part that is important. This world takes place in a universe where there were two planes, or dimensions, running side by side for eternity. One was a physical plane in which the concept of magic, while existing, required one to have direct contact with the target and was mainly used to power technology and for healing. The other world was an ethereal plane where magic was the vary air and that hosted a slew of interesting spiritual creatures and wondrous sights to behold however the beings here had no organized society or civilization.

The two planes existed separate and unaware of the others existence until something happened. No one is sure what but some 2417 years, 3 months, 9 days, and 5 hours ago the two worlds collided. And life as either knew it came to a halt…

See, it wasn’t the end of everything, though, as rather than their being and explosion that shattered the two planets they did what real astrological bodies would do if they collided gently (you know, on the cosmic scale) and that is they merged. The Physical plane was ripped apart as massive founts of raw mana burst from the ground and the earth cracked and reformed, the sky scorching, freezing, and then plummeting only to rise once again to the stars. I’ll spare you the whole story and get to the point. A world where once only living beings had magic was now fractured, damaged, and decimated, but also reborn with magic so potent it was as abundant as air. This new world built a new civilization from the ashes of the old where magic and technology are one and the same and the new society that emerged blossomed… This is the world we shall inhabit for this game.

As a bit more explanation let me drop some theoretical knowledge on you. There is a branch theory in physics that claims that gravity's effect drops off abnormally. So much so that they believe that gravity, one of the foundation forces of our universe does not originate in our universe at all and instead is the primary force of another parallel dimension that bleeds through the divide between us to affect us, while at the same time the atomic force that is the most powerful of our universe should bleed to that universe. It is this theory that inspired this game. In the physical world of Terminus (name is up for debate) the primary force was the atomic force, making things solid; while the world of Aetherius had a power based in mana, or magic, an energy source uniquely different from others in that it is both created and destructible. The world of Terminus had magic, but it was so weak in the atmosphere that the only way people could use it was through direct contact with something else charged with mana, a person or special object. In Aetherius they had little in the way of physical objects, the only tangible thing being their stars that cast dim light, far less than our own, making the realm one of eternal twilight.

When they two world collided the atmosphere of Terminus was charged with neutral mana that allows magic to be projected into the outer world and channeled into the body to make one more powerful.

Let me be clear: EVERYONE IN THIS WORLD IS A MAGE. JUST MOST ONLY USE PHYSICAL MAGICS

The entire population of Terminus can use and project mana save for a tiny sliver that will not be in the game (don’t ask to be one of them as a special snowflake, they aren’t part of this story)

Anyway is anyone at all interested in playing a game like this in this world? It’ll be fun, trust me!
