OOC: i could've sworn i posted this already...huh

IC: Zanos slobered a bit on Raigi's shoulder, his plan was going great. Once he had felt the angelic presence, he decided to play the drunken bum role, the dark elf lost intrest and left, and the other Dorai had picked him up intreged by Zanos's aging, everything was working perfectly, now the only variable left was the stupid angel up there, it depended completly on who is target was, no metter who it was though, Zanos had a plan, he gave a little smile at this...

Re: The Ancients Amulets

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Raigi on Tue Jul 17, 2007 3:08 am

The amulet around Raigi's neck was glowing slightly but was tucked beneath his shirt so nobody could see it. It did however create a bit of an aura about him, visible only to those with an affinity to the divine. It wasn't Raigi emitting this source it was something he held, something closely linked to the goddess of Magic herself. He took several steps back, being so young he had little knowledge of angels save for the ocassional mortal myth he'd heard about them. Something told Raigi to get out of there, not to confront this angel lest he possibly lose his life. He was scared somewhat, because of the malice the being showed toward the others lives here. He started to walk quickly away, not wanting to follow the path of the elf but it was the only way to go since he couldn't wade through a sea of bodies with the aged Dorai on his back.

He had no idea he was emitting an aura or that the angel might have an interest in what he held. Jaques was leaving and Raigi was quickly catching up, though he wasn't traveling with the elf. It was either escape toward Jaques, or the enraged angel. He simply took what he felt to be less dangerous of the two options, after all, he still had a job to do in the keep, the second key awaited. He couldn't let them steal it...not his men. Duran would bring destruction to mortals if he had all of the keys to the tower far in the frozen north.

Zanos didn't plan on dieing, so he adjusted his head next to Raigi's and whispered.

"If you plan on keeping that amulet to yourself, then i would suggest not going in the same direction as that elf". Zanos's eyes were still closed, and a small hanging bit of drool still hung from his bottom lip, but his talking was clear and perfect...

The tingling feel of His lady, His goddess, temporarily found its way to Valesh. The use of magic usually did this. It was not the same though, A key, In this city, It may be that my priorities have just changed the feel of this was different though, The goddess of Life Had a Calming scent, Her beauty and power Unimaginable, yet gentle. This was different, it was not a suttle. Where his lady was like the wind, this was like a crashing Waterfall, loud, Powerful and Unpredictable. It was Entirely Alien to Him.

Raigi nearly jumped out of his skin, the voice of the older man comiong from a source he thought to be passed out cold. "Why are you playing possum?" He asked plainly as he tried to find a place to duck out of the public eye. There were just so many people gathered to see the spectacle that it was hard to maneuver around. Finally an opening, Raigi lost the elf in a sea of people, not that it really mattered to him. Everything came to a screeching halt though as he came to a stop on the middle of a bridge. They'd escaped the crowds to a more quiet part of town. It was a ritzy area, looking more suited to the noblemen of this particular kingdom. They had somehow ended up on the drawbridge to the main keep of Coritani castle.

Wait....why was he carrying someone that was still awake. The slobber fell and hit his shoulder, his eyes widening as he dropped the old man and danced around a bit trying to get off. "Blech! that's gross! What's with the act anyway!?" He asked again, this time really wanting answer as he assumed they'd put enough distance between themselves and the ancient being of purity.

"I will come for you yet again Jacques, count yourself among the spared!" taking flight. rising rapidly A memory struck him, when he had first descended, A dying monk had entrusted him with one of theese 'keys' although he kept it tucked away it's magic sealed. although his seemed slighly more dormant, it must be a lesser of the eight . tugging on the small 'cloth' sack dangling inside his coat. Maybe just Maybe if he could restore the goddess of mana, he could restore the goddess of Life. they where almost one in the same. soaring he headed out towards the chapel bell tower he had come to call 'Home'.

Zanos grinned, the boy was finaly catching on, although there wasn't to much complexity.

*thud*

Zanos hit the ground back-first, his shoulder's burned with pain, those damn things always seemed to burn, ever since his exile from his clan, his shoulders seemed far more vulnerable, as well as fragile. He stood up slowly, using his staff as support. His left hand involuntarily shot up to his right shoulder, it seemed much more painfull than it realy was.

"well, to start off," Zanos said, wincing slightly once his body reached its full height,"that was very rude of you, where do you get off dropping old men on their back-sides?" Zanos smiled cooly,"at any rate, we should discuss things when people's lives aren't in danger, unless" Zanos turned away,"you like endangering the well-fare of innocents"...

Raigi stared at him with a level of curiosity, a sort blank stare plastered onto his face. He thought about the mans words for a minute and shook his head. "No I don't like to endanger people and you're a Dorai aren't you? You should still be young! Dorai aren't supposed to age and become brittle, I thought it might've been another illusion. Though, I really wish that slobber was an illusion." He shuttered a bit, making an 'ookie' face before frowning. Now nobody is in danger here and I'd really like some answers if you don't mind." He said with arms crossed. "Oh and sorry for dropping you on your back." He was polite if a little simple.

"Nonsense, my boy, there is danger all around you, and me" Zanos said wryly,"it's just a matter of finding it before it finds you, and besides,"Zanos started walking towards the keep, "some things are better left as mysteries"...

ooc: that's completely fine, I just throw the detail in as an extra, I just like to see new posts. ^^

Raigi frowned as he peered out the darkness of his hood at the older man. How irritating to try and dechipher the riddles of a strange old man. He wished more than anything that he could just get some answers! The old man was making his way toward the keep but....why? Peasant folk weren't allowed in there and they certainly didn't pass for nobles. "H...hey! We can't go in there! What are you trying to do get yourself arrested?" He asked, concerned for the mans safety.

Raigi was doubting Zanos's abilities once again, 'the fool' Zanos thought'. Zanos kept walking towards the keep.

"You're mistaken young one, if there is no one to see us, then there is no one to arrest us."Zanos said calmly. Towards the east end of city, smoke began to rise, screams and shrieks are audible all across the city, guards and soldiers began running towards the east end of the city, Zanos kept walking," Seems that they have just started" Zanos said calmly as the smoke got higher...

((it isn't Zanos that's doing this, all is explained soon enough))

sniffing the air and turning Valesh was confused. pain!? the ensuing scream was In-human, a beast like howl. flapping wildly He fell, plummeting as the flame licked at his wing's. snapping out short of the ground. He soared, an impressive show of ariel acrobatics barrel rolls and flips. landing he spread his wings over his shoulder's examining the damage. all minor burns.

Jacques smiled, a thought coming to his mind. It had been a long while since he had broken into the castle. He just hoped they would become more angry than they did last time. It was quite boring. The people were catching on that Jacques only broke the law for fun, it seemed.
Jacques cursed silently. He decided it was worth a try, as he climbed a stack of crates onto the well-built buildings around him, looking into the sky. It was only out of the corner of his eye, but he caught the angel's flight. Ah. So he was a real one after all. Jacques laughed to himself. He didn't even know the danger he had walked away from.

But it didn't matter to Jacques as he jumped from rooftop to rooftop towards the castle.
The rich part of this city was the most fun. He loved the commotion of the guards finding an entire house's contents strewn about the poorer side of town.

"Whore!" He called to passing-by women and girls. The fury in their faces was more than enough to make Jacques continue to do this.

Now several things were attacking Raigi's senses smoke was in the air and faint screams made his inhuman ears twitch from beneath the hood he wore. "Nyeh?" He muttered out as he caught sight of the smoke rising. That explained why the guards weren't there but why on earth was the city on fire. That's when he looked back to Zanos, wishing he could get some answers. "What exactly is going on? How did you know the keep would be unguarded? Even better though....why are you trying to get into the keep?" He asked, hoping this time he'd get answers but it was unlikely. The keep would likely be lightly guarded on the outer perimiter given the trouble in the city but the Inner quarters would likely still be under heavy guard.

Flapping his wings in attempt to make flight Valesh Screeched. An arrow pierced his wing. Whipping back to face the gaurd he brought forth his blade, shining bright with holy power. The blade sheared through the chain mesh that the gaurd was wearing, the man's eye's widened as the blade twisted and moved ripping his innards to shreds. with a quick flick of his wrist, he pulled the blade free of his victim turning in time to watch an arrow streak past his head. Screeching again he pushed forward, dropping the other guard with a blow to the head.

Revelling in the scent of fresh mortal blood he took flight. wincing with each beat of his wings. One more sin on the heads of these usurping mortals. to make one as superior as himself feel pain? He understood now why His goddess had brought pain to this world. when her sister was 'dead' and she herself 'dying' she had brought more pain into the world. He remembered, His mistress pleading with her sister, begging even, to bring an end to these mortals. she saw the corruption spreading and did what she could, she brought pain, in the form of hunger and thirst. he remebered.

Zanos talked to the naive boy behind him, without turning to face him.

"It's simple m'boy,"Zanos side-stepped a corpse on the ground," you just need to know what group is attacking where and when."Zanos looked towards the screams, a large group of bandits were raiding and destroying everything in their sights. The bandits were covered with their victims blood, a large aroma trailed slightly behind them, reminding all who were unlucky enough the privelage of smelling some freakish mix of decay, and blood. Each of the bandits eyes were blood-red, their teeth were out-grown from their mouth, their noses had submerged into their skulls, leaving behind a demonic-humanoid. These Bandits were taking no prisoners, and very few of them had begun looting. These bandits were unlike any normal human, and every-one who had seen this, would know, that the world just got a little darker with corupption...

Looking down from his spot in the sky Valesh eye'd the Demon-Men, and A black rage consumed him, so furious was he at the Depravety of these mortals that he dived at a breakneck speed towards the earth. instead of pulling up, he dived crushing A Demon beneath him, standing in the middle of the crowd of demon things. he whippesd about. He had set to destroy this Desecration that must have taken place in the death of his mistress.

Re: The Ancients Amulets

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Raigi on Fri Jul 27, 2007 2:30 am

Raigi's head craned toward the screams when he was met with the grotesque sight of the demon men. Where could THEY have come from? That new cult that the villagers has been spreading rumors about? Or perhaps something more... Raigi wanted to go help and he started to move toward that direction when the angel landed, dispatching one of the demon men in an instant. He was powerful....so powerful, truly a blessed creation but it was just so ferocious. The angels presence unnerved Raigi, this being seemed cold to him and he doubted it would see him as an ally. Still....something pulled at him, told him to help. It was part of his youth, being so young he was so impulsive and innocent in his actions that some he made may not have been the wisest.

"That's...that's horrible, I've got to help somehow." He said to the man as he drifted toward the battle, he wanted to fight bandits that weren't occupied with the angel so that he might avoid being severely outmatched. His inexperience showed when he ran down the road, completely abandoning the trek to the keep for the moment. It never even crossed his mind that this may irritate the older man, but he had a soft spot for mortals even with the trouble he'd had with them. About 20 feet from the angel near a home that was set ablaze, the wood splintering and cracking through the flames. He clashed with one of the demon men, his thin longblade clanging loudly against the other mans. This demon-human was about to execute the remaining members of a family. He'd managed to make it in time to give a mother and daughter time to escape but their father had perished trying to protect them.

With his attack parried he was in a little bit of trouble as the demon man kicked him in the stomach, knocking him back. Raigi recovered in time to dodge what would've been a fatal blow from his enemies saber, instead taking a cut across his cheek. Blood trickled out of the hood but luckily he wasn't revealed for what he was. This would've been so much easier if he could've used his magic but now wasn't the time to whine. Being a speed fighter he got the advantage, as the saber was coming again to finish the job his longblade peirced the mans chest and came out his back. Raigi shivered at the sound it made, he was still new to fighting and killing, it still made him sick to imagine it. His blade was stuck on the things armor though, and now he was stuck trying to rip it out of the now limp corpse.

Now fighting multiple enemies, Valesh had also pulled out a long dagger, using it as instrument of parrying, one ... two ... three ... strike ... one .... parry .... strike ... dodge ... strike .... the three dropped leaving only two who had been attacking villagers. his eye's practically ablaze with fury, he loosed his dagger. it flew hilt over blade over and over again until it embedded itself in the head of a standing deamonite. the magic emenating from his key was amplified, leaking from his safety pouch. he was calmed his rage seeping away as the essence of his goddess surrounded him. sighing he stepped over to the struggling man, wrapping a hand around the man's he gave a feirce tug wrenching the blade free. then it hit him. the man wreaked of a key, along with mana, he was no man, he was dorai.

Re: The Ancients Amulets

ooc: Apologies for the delayed post, I went to see Aerosmith rock Konocti Harbor. Never seen a bad show with them and they certainly havn't started puttin em on! loved the show and now I'm back so I can post regularly again!

Raigi had gotten so caught up in the fighting that he had never even seen the angel finish off his targets as he worked toward dispatching that remaining demonite. With a near miss to raigi's side the demonites blade stabbed through air and the end of a cloak. With a quick reaction common to his race he retaliated. Hard tempered steel cut through his enemies chest, a spray of slightly discolored blood spattering across the ground. He'd won, he'd actually defeated two fighters and with only one wound, if quite painful now that the shock was wearing off. He was actually kind of proud of himself, defending some innocent people as he started to breath normally again.

That's when he felt it, another hand with an amazingly powerful grip tightened around his own and as if it was without effort flung his blade right from his hands leaving him defenseless in the grip of what he believed to be a wrathful angel. Raigi's head rose with a snap and he locked eyes with the being. He was terror stricken the angel could see, the light shining into his hood, illuminating a face that was so young and different but nevertheless bearing the gift of the fallen goddess. Raigi was speechless andbeing so young his magic would only serve to delay this beings killing him if that was what it so wished. He snapped out of it, struggled and thrashed trying to get away from this being. He almost wished he'd stayed with the older man...but his innocent stupidity led him here, to the arms of a creature that he thought may try to take his life. Why was he so afraid of the angel? If it had wanted to kill him it'd have done it already, however that didn't register with him. The only thing that he knew was he couldn't get away so he did the only thing he could think of at that moment, he stopped struggling, the angels grip too tight for him to and stared back again, wide eyed and fearful as he spoke. '"P...please don't kill me, I'm not one of them." He said referring to the demon men, after all he only looked semi human as he was.
