The Forgotten Tora

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby tigerz-peace on Thu Sep 06, 2007 2:29 am

The sound of people yelling and screaming, the sound of metal against metal and sword against bone rang throughout the tavern. Men could be heard yelling to eachother in a forgotten language, women screaming and trying to find a way out, only to find all the exits blocked by half starved, blood thirsty rebels. Blood and mead covered the paved floor, and caused many to slip, accompanied by the limp bodies that lay on the floor. A yound woman stood amidst this, her hair soaked with sweat and blood, her clothing resembling a youths and clinging to her shapely body. A long word was held in her hand, her long white fingers wrapped around the diamond encrusted hilt tightly. The blade - smeared with blood - glinted in the flickering lantern light, often becoming shrouded in shadows as bodies past the lights. Another man lashed out at her, aiming for the heart, and she side-stepped, thrusting her blade into the rebels heart. Scars marked her angelic face, some years old, some she had recieved only minutes ago. A man fought his way towards her, dodging a blow to the head with a chair which had been used as a last chance. The man holding it would be found hours after, a hole deep in his blackened heart.
The man stood beside her, her eyes alive with confusion and anger, he spoke, his breath raspy and hoarse from the intense yelling. His lip was bleeding, and eye swollen, and yet he still managed to look handsome.
"We have to get you out of here - my men can finish off the rest"
The woman nodded, her expression reflecting Takeo's. "Keep one hostage. Be sure to tell your men to strip him of everything, and inspect him from poisons, I want to know who is behind this damned attack." She shouted a warning as a man, ragged enough to pass for a starved wolf, flew out of the crowd at Takeo, spear at the ready. Just as spear head met skin, the wolf-man's eyes widend in sudden suprise as a sword went through his stomach, tearing through his organs. Takeo's arm fell limp as he ripped the spear from it and picked up his fallen sword. Grabbing Chiyo's hand, he dragged her through the crowd, which consisted mainly of the Tora people, and out into the crisp night. The echo's of the fight followed them as they sprinted down the gravel road, towards the outskirts of the small town....

The Tora lands - more commongly known as the Forgotten Tora Lands, has not been heard of for hundreds of years, becoming as much a myth as Atlantis. The Tora Lands and neighbouring countries are at war. With fertile land, calm oceans, and many Merchants from other lands travelling to The Tora Lands, it is a great prize - if anyone would be able to win it. The Tora people are of a endangered - and once thought extinct - race. The lands people are of the Tiger. Taking on the form of a human or tiger, they are a maginificent and ancient people. Rebel groups have formed on the boarderlands, and many attacks have been made. The most recent upon the Tora's Ruler, Chiyo. Chiyo is newly returned to the lands, having left many years before for unknown reasons.....

OOC -

I WILL edit the above, its just I dont have the full story saved on this computer. Basically, it is a fantasy RP, lands at war, and most Story-Lines revolve around Chiyo herself, and her gaurds, children etc. No God Modding, and no cheating. If your unsure where to start a post, try making your char one of the gaurds etc. I'll add a short list of people that would be welcome in this, like, certain gaurds and stuffs. Im in a hurry, so its not my best post, and if you have any questions, PM me and I'll answer as soon as possible =)

Outside the tavern, the sounds of battle reached an alert gaurd's ears. The person perked up, inclining her head towards the sound. A compulsive grip tightened about the hilt of a single curved sword slung casually at the waist. Wearing all black, the person was not very visible, but when they stood, the moon's pale beams illuminating the back. Around the person, others rose, hands on various kinds of weaponry as they waited for the first person to give a command. The person turned until thier profile was illuminated by the moon. It was then revealed to all who did not know, that this person was in fact, female. She narrowed her amber eyes, the pupils in the center wide to allow as much moonlight in to enable sight.

"Scatter. I believe there is a problem."

It was a whisper. A whisper of a whisper actually. But those around her vanished, changing or running off at a surprising pace. The woman herself composed herself and lightly let herself down from the roof she was standing upon. Her feet touched down lightly on the ground and she started off. There seemed to be a brawl. She'd see to it that the brawl didn't get out of hand, and that no one important was injured. Walking silently, the girl headed off towards the sounds of battle, slowling drawing her curved scmitar from it's sheath. She held it loosely in her left hand, her eyes narrowed into amber flecks.

No one started trouble near her.

~Chiyo~
Takeo and Chiyo reached the outskirts of the town. The shabby houses were silent and dark, and the echoes of the fight had died away a while ago. Chiyo groped at a stitch at her side, her breath coming in soft ragged gasps. The had been running only about ten minutes and her energy was already drained, so quickly that is was unnatural. Taeko pulled Chiyo down an alley-way that danced with shadows, moving down a memorized path. They reached one of the most run down houses in the village. Its door was swinging off the hinges, and the very thatched roof seem to sag beneath an invisible weight. They stepped into the dark room - after walking at a slwio and reasonable pace, Chiyo had regained her breath, and the stitch in her side was no longer. Chiyo ran her hands along the rough, damp wall, finaqlly finding the crack that indicated the door that led into the cellar. she opend it widfe enough for them to slip through, nearly falling down the stone stairs. Her hands trailed besie her along the walls, tking one slow step at a time. They wouldnt have stopped, but she had to collect her children... They had refused to stay behind, and even though they were young, Sae could her and her twin brother extremely persuasive. Chiyo sighed, she had been too soft, but she just couldnt bear to be away from her children for so long. That has left them behind in the make-shift hide-out, where they would be mostly safe...
A torches light could be seen around the corner, and it lit the lower steps. Chiyo moved quicker now, depserate to see her children safely tucked in their warm beds, sleeping peacefully, unaware of the attack that had been made on their parents. She reached the second door of the cellar and pushed the heavy wood inwards, lights spilling out onto the stair case. Takeo almost knocking her over in his own rush to see his children as well. The door closed behinde them with a quite snap, and the two worried oarents headed directly for the beds at the far end of the cellar. Two small bulks rose from the blankets, and Chiyo leant over the joint bed, brushing the hair away from her sons face lightly, and kissing his forehead. Relief rushed through her body at seeing him safe. Takeo stood quite still beside her, the blanket still clutched in his hand from when he had pulled the blanket back from their daughters face. Chiyo looked over and let out a low groan. Instead of seeing her young daughter, she saw a rapidly fading illusion.
"Sae!" Fright filled Chiyo's eyes as she stared at the now non-existant illusion, then at Takeo, almost forgetting that Kane slept on, Chiyo stood and yelled out, her voice echoing throughout the cellar.

"Alyssa, Tora, Farl, come out NOW!"

~Tennissa~
Tennissa stood among bodies of Tora and rebels alike. A sword was clutched in her grasp tightly and her chest heaved as she looked around. She had seen Chiyo and Takeo leave the Tavern a few minutes ago, and Takeo had left her with instructions which she followed easily. Many of the Tora still stood, weapons drawn, and all the rebels lay dead or mortally wounded. She nodded at those in her command, and began moving throughout the bodies, prodding the rebels with her foot to check if they were still alive, calling out to her men and woman to help one of their own whenever she found on still living. This wasnt any petty drunken brawl, it was a full fledged planned attack. A groan escaped the lips of one of the rebels. There was a large gash on his chest, and his leg bled profusously. A look of disgust crossed Tennissa's face and she pulled a daggr from her blt, stabbing it into the mans house. She had recieved orders to keep one of the rebels alive, and that was done. He lay slumped in the corner, having been stripped of his clothing and searched for poisons and things alike, and now he was gaurded while they awaited the signal to move out and meet Chiyo and Takeo in the woods surrounding the village.
A flash of purple caught her eye and she turned to investigate. There was nothing there, but then she saw it again, to her left. She turned in time to see a small tiger cub run past, weaving in between the bodies. A groan of annoyance, frustration was emitted from Tennissa, and she signalled to one of her guards, who walked over, not sheathing his sword.
"Sae is here" Tennissa's voice was light, even after such a fight, but it had a steel cold edge that garrenteed her peoples cooperation, except for one. Sae. She will never learn, she thought to herself, as she turned once more, again in time to see Sae running past, but this time she stopped dead in her tracks.
One of the rebels hands had creeped out, grabbing Sae's leg just as she passed. He was nearly dead, but his grip was iron, and as he pulled her closer, the silver of a dagger caught the like, flashing. Tennissa lunged forward, covering the gap between her and cub in two large strides.
"Sae!"
There was no room for manners here, even if the young cub was next in line for the Toran throne. Tennissa's own dagger was clutched in her sword hand, and she lashed out, slitting the rebels throat. Around the young cub was one arm, and it gripped her tgihtly, not alowing her to escape. Her gaurds had noticed the attempted attack at the last second; some had stopped in their tracks, a few had begun to dart forward in an attempt to help, othrs had been too slow to realise what was happening, and once they saw it was under control they had continued to search through the bodies.
"What were you thinking?" Tenn hissed in Sae's ear, and anger and concern for the child clear in her hazel eyes.
"...I...I...I wanted Mama..." The tiger cub whimpered, cowering in fright from the attempted attack, huddled in Tenns arms. Tennissa relaxed slightly, pity for the small child overruling her anger, not for the first time.
"Come then. I will leave Adrian in charge while I return you to your parents... You should have stayed with your brother you were safer.." Tenn nodded to the guard she had caqlled over earlier. Adrian was one of her most trusted, and would most likely take her place should the need ever be. Sae nodded, still trembling in Tenns arms....

Sae snuggled into the warm embrace of Tennissa's arms, her whimpers quieting as she reflected upon her previous actions. Her mother had advised both her and her brother to stay in bed at all costs, but something flickering in Chiyo's eyes alarmed young Sae, and she had to follow. Now she was uncertain if that plan was the right choice. Ghosts of the battle fluttered through Sae's thoughts, shrouding them in nightmares. She whimpered once more. She needed to see her mother, she needed to know what was happening.
War does not determine who is right; only who is left.

~Tennissa~

Tenn could feel the trembles of the young cub, and she looked at her sadly - she hated seeing the young ones frightend, it wasnt right for them to feel so at such a young age. Sae looked so small in Tenns arm, and she wondered why the young child did not take on her human form... Tenn didnt think about that for too long, it was only something small, nothing to worry or ponder about... What she did need to worry about, though, was getting to the safe house safely. Tenn was fully aware that there could still be rebels, or even fully trained assasins laying in wait... And the young cub Tenn held in her arms dead would be excellent for the neighbouring countries...

The female gaurd padded along silently, her silver blade nearly slicing the ground as she moved. Her movements themselves were smooth but calculated, like water or another viscous material. Her eyes were narrowed dangerously as miniature clouds of dust rose from the ground beneath her feet. Her trained ears picked up the sounds of other gaurds following behind her and to her left and right, each as silent as a whisper as they moved. She could pick up the sounds because she was the best. Not the second best, nor anything like that. She was, plain and simple, the best. She just didn't choose to vie for positions high or otherwise, because the moment she showed her hand, any advantage she'd gained from years of showing nothing but mediocrity would be gone.

And she was all about advantages, fair or otherwise.

No, she was not above fighting dirty. She'd toss dirt into an opponent's eyes, trip them, call her subordinates to take one person out, break her word, anything.

She would never loose.

Never.

She would exist forever, as a memory, or as a myth. Either way she did not care. She would live on forever. Immortal.
