I've a question. What's the policy on... er, 'half-breeds', so to speak? I was torn between a Sudean human and an Ashura, and then I was like 'fuck it, how about both?' which I thought would make for an interesting character given the history between those two races/empires. So is a half-Sudean half-Ashura character possible, or is that biologically impossible and/or just too painfully cliche?

Yeah half breeds definitely exist in the world, they're just way less common because the races seem to hate each other mostly! And there are probably a lot of biological problems as well which would prevent an entire half-race race from continuing, as it were. But think it'd make a fascinating character, I give it a thumbs up.

Sweet. In that case, I must ask, just for clarification, how do you suppose a human-Ashura hybrid would work? Number of arms, tincture of skin, etc?

Oh boy I'm not sure, we didn't plan this stuff. In general I'd imagine they'd sort of look half in half, like an off human. Like if you saw them you'd go wow that guy is tall / has really weird skin and features. They look as though they could belong to something else. As for the arms I'm not sure either, both could work but its really up to you. You're the first one creating this mix so you're writing the canon right now, basically. I'm really interesting in sort of the mindset this character would have more then anything I'm really looking forward to that.

Also just a quick time frame for everyone viewing the thread, I'll probably do the opening post tomorrow evening so that gives people more time to join and stuff and for the first few days of posting when people are still joining it may be kind of slow but it'll pick up. Also, once the adventure begins everyone can still join! The Guild will be picking up new members along the way so there's no absolute time limit for this.

Looks interesting! I'll most likely be joining. Just two quick questions.
1. I know you said members can make there own arcs and storylines, but with there be an overall storyline? A goal for the guild? An enemy to conquer?
2. What will the posting style be? I usually post 100-500 worded entries. Is that sufficient?

No problem Knight Commander Dragoon. And yeah Glory, in my other thread the UO almost everyone has a villain and different side characters in different factions and there are a bunch of different plots and they flow together really well because we communicate. Basically if you want to make a villain, an entire separate organization, or anything else for the storyline its great! And if you don't and just want to control your main character that's also fine. The only thing is when you do create something big make sure others can be included, like let them create their own side characters who are part of what you created or something like that. I hope that made sense.
As for posting lengths and limits this gets me to one of my biggest pet peeves. I absolutely hate when threads have a minimum word rule at the bottom because sometimes one sentence is the best reply! Conversations aren't held 500 words each, and I find chemistry and character dynamics and sort of the universal story flow goes a lot better when everyone replies with what they want to reply with, no limits at all. Sometimes we write a sentence in response and sometimes its a novel: in general the rule is whatever fits c:

EDIT: Actually, considering Malao very obviously doesn't immediately meet the description of the bounty, that might be an interesting issue that comes up later when everybody somehow ends up shanghaied into the guild. The mercenaries of the group find out they've got a very tempting reward walking around right before their very eyes.

I even made up a Wanted poster of him.
That would be the artists rendition of him through the stories of the different Mercenary groups and Bounty Hunters.
