70 years ago the pillars of wyrd which the elves used to control the winds of magic were destroyed in a titanic battle with the forces of evil, the resulting explosion was cataclysmic. Most of the elven homeland of Viernis was destroyed leaving only their capital of silva afloat. The rest of Viernis is now islands with ruins of previously great elven cities on them, the land is blasted and wrecked with literally no life left. Across the world of Kaldor fire rained from the skies turning people into ash. The dwarves retreated to their fortresses high in the mountains, the humans empire was practically shattered as factions splintered off to get away from the raining death. With this chaos happening the orcs attacked, their hordes driving teh good races back and back. From the shattered pillars of wyrd a portal emerged, hordes of daemons surged forward led by the daemon lord Shivvish. Teh world was turned into a wasteland, the only part that remained untouched were the jungles of Ossetia to teh south. Forests burned and people were slaughtered for decades as teh forces of darkness ran rampant throughout the known world, this is the chaos you are thrust into.
note on Classes: only fighters can wear heavy armour unless specifically said.

Forces of good.
Elves: Elves are tall fair folk, nimble and arrogant. They're race is dwindling with only a few thousand left in the city turned fortress of Silva. Slowly they gained confidence and have started to leave they're homeland to combat the forces of evil, walled towns have sprung up and they're numbers have started to increase. They are very long lived with many of them remembering when they fell from grace, this has left them sour and quiet.

Dwarves: The Dwarves have dwelled in their mountain stringholds ever since the skies burned and the oceans boiled. They are a grim race set in their ways. The younglings of their race have started to leave the old cities and turn away from their ways to go on the offencive. All dwarves are easily offended and quick to defend their friends and allies. Their capital city is Galrakor but there are many other dwarf strongholds in teh White top mountains where they hail from. Dwarves typically live to be around 300.

Fighters
Humans of the third empire: these are the humans still loyal to the old empire before the cataclysm. They are a disparate community with their capital city of Ballardir being their only major settlement. The lands of the third empire are walled to stop enemies from getting through, these walls are manned constantly. The empire is only a shadow of what it used to be, what used to be continent spanning is now only the size of real world Iceland. The lush green lands of the empire are completely surrounded by the marshes of Hallan, making it hard to reach their allies except by the gold road, a large suspended bridge above the marshes reaching to the Dwarf settlement of Kroknir. Lifespan is the same as real humans.

Priests: healers on others, use staffs and maces/hammers in combat. Can go to battle in heavy armour if want to but then healing will be drastically reduced.
Forces of evil:
Orcs: The foul orcs of the east have run rampant in Kaldor for 70 years now, killing and looting towns and villages. They have even set up a few towns, the main one being called Gorgor. The orcs are violent and bloodthirsty, they are tall and muscly with grey skin and fangs. They often wear mongolian style hair and beards. tehy live to around the age of 120.

Raiders- shortbows/corssbows with axes, swods or other bludgeoning weapons, they are lightly armoured.

Daemons: The daemons are pure evil, murdering and slaughtering all other races unless in they're specific interests. They hold a tenious alliance with the orcs and dark elves. The daemons often take the form of pale humans in order to better use weapons and armour. They live to kill and delight in misery. Daemons are often seen in orc and dark elf settlements. Daemons are immortal and have no real age only a physical age if they take on a human form as a fighter.

mages- the mages are the only ones who retain they're true form as it is more convenient. Be as imaganitive as you like with your appearence.
Use the same magic schools as elves but can use death magic instead of water and ice.
stalkers- use the forms of shadows clothed in black garments can use an array of cruel weaponry. Again use your imagination on the kind of things you would like to kill people with.
Dark elves: When the leves fell from grace a group of 400 left in order to rebuild else where. Slowly they became corrupted and cruel as their numbers grew, now having the same population as their fair cousins they are unrecognisable. They're skin is dark blue, burple or grey and they have bright white hair. they're eyes glow different colours due to the corruption bestowed upon them. Now they hate the othe elves who they believe forsook them and left them to die. They believe it was the other elves who destroyed themselves and condemned the earth and with they're new allies the dark elves plan to extract vengeance on all those who stand for freedom and rightousness.

raiders- use bows and swords/ other cutting weapons. They have chains to capture slaves to bring back to the dark elf capital of Nrasyn.
There are other races in the world including lots of splinter human factions such as the norsemen and Li Pei, these may be added at a later date.
Geography.
The humans live on the southern coast in the walled continent of Nallnan.
The white top mountains are in the centre.
The good elves live on the western coast on the larges island of the many that create the remains of they're original homeland.
The daemon gate is to the east in a ruined elven city called Illior.
The dark elves live to the north in the land of Agon.
The orcs inhabit the plains surrounding all these other lands.
All the land is a wasteland, apart from the white top mountains, Silva and Nallnan.

Personality- Grungnir is gruff but jovial at the same time, he enjoys a good drink of mead just like any dwarf but is tougher than usual both mentally and physically due to the ammount of time he has spent in the wild.
Bio- Grungnir is teh son of the dwarf lord of Kraknir Snorri Torren. At the young age of 20 he was banished and disowned due to dishonouring the dwarf ancestors when demanding they go on the offence rather than defend against the orcs. He is intent on regaining his honour but at the same time has gained an affinity with the wild, hunting orcs and trolls in the frozen wastes. He secretly dreams of one day becoming the noble of Kraknir and being adopted back into his family but right now he has learned to live away from dwarf society.
