The school is surrounded in a forest, though there is a lake surrounding it. When you see your companion, you will be able to even get near it and it won't just run off, leaving you. After a while, they may actually become friends with you, as you will know if they begin to follow you, therefore become your companion. After you find yours, you must bring it to the headmaster, and she will bond you with a spell if you don't believe you can understand each other enough.

I planned on explaining it when the day started, but here it is know, I guess.

That wasn't really what I was asking, but thanks for answering. I wanted to know where in the world the school was and what part of its country it was in. And about the companion battles, I want to know how the battles work and why they're done, not how to get a companion since Oscar already has one.

Oh. My apologies. It's located in the Southern area of England. The companion battles are done to strengthen your companion. They show your amount of skill and will be found another companion to fight based on their skill, or their owner's skill. Then the two will enter a small arena, that's blocked off from the top, so they won't run off, battle each other until they are exhausted or their owner says and the winner will earn something for them or their opponent.
