Time Apothecarianism is the science of using telomeres extracted from natural organisms, and combining other ingredients through a precise process in order to create ingestable tinctures for time travel. A tincture consists of three primary parts:
1. Telomeres
2. Stabilizer
3. Solution
The telomeres, then-inactive, are extracted from the original organic material by a process involving using a biomagnetic mineral (most often a "Paradox Crystal") suspended inside a hollow chamber within the vial the telomere source is contained. Over time, the telomeres become unbound from the organic source and coagulate around the suspension chamber, becoming temporally bound to the timeline the paradox crystal originated from. The rest of the organic material (leaf particles, etc) are then carefully removed. A simple solution is then added, usually water-soluble, and finally a stabilizer is added. The biomagnetic mineral is then removed, the tincture is sealed, and then stored in a location for as long as is needed for the stabilizer to take effect. The time of aging can be anywhere between hours to months, depending on which type is used and at what dosage.
Despite this process, tincture quality and effectiveness varies widely. Some - usually those who work in the black market - can omit stabilizers or use multiple organic sources, causing dangerous - and often lethal - outcomes. An unstabilized tincture is not bound to a specific point in time, nor a specific timeline, and can result in parts of the traveler ending up being physically split as different parts of the body travel to different time locations.
