Amber and Will were always inseparable. They were the closest within the group. Always confiding in each other and making inside jokes. They made each other happy and also acted as each others emotional release. They kept contact even after the group split up, but Will was different. He became an asshole whenever others were around, but returned to normal when the two were alone. It was frustrating and resulted in fights that seemed to happen too often, but neither stayed mad for long. Amber still considers him a best friend and trusts him with her life, but she just doesn't know who Will is trying to be.

It was those days where Amber hated herself the most and it tips her closer to ending the pain.

Back when Maryam was someone so empathetic she'd cry at other people's sadness, Max was one of the friends whom she'd cry for the most. Seeing him hurt made her feel so powerless. In hindsight, she thinks this must have made him uncomfortable, and Gin believes that this is why he is keeping her at arm's length recently. She used to be able to read him so easily- now, something is different.

With her sharp words and strong personality, Raven was once someone whom Maryam would hesitate to call a close friend despite being in the same group. She looked down on Maryam for being so soft-hearted, causing distance between them. Now, however, as Gin has become stronger, Raven they have become more similar. While Maryam was never someone who Raven would have been close with, Gin seems to be another story. She uses this as proof that she is better now than she was before.

Before the group split, Eden and Maryam were very different people. Eden was bubbly and energetic, optimistic and bright, while Maryam was softer and more sensitive, as quick to tear up as she was to smile. These days, however, they have grown more similar, both becoming people who seem tougher, perhaps a bit colder, than they used to. Gin worries that Eden's has come from a different place than her change has. She isn't sure, but she could have sworn she saw some sort of marks on Eden that made her blood boil. She wants to protect the girl who always was there to cheer her up, but doesn't actually know for sure what is wrong.

But she worries that being around Grace too much will make it too easy to fall back into those patterns of dependency on others. That being said, she wonders about Grace- for the most part the girl seems the same, but something about her seems more. . .on guard.

Will struggled to get to where he is right now, and to maintain it. From his perspective, Max just got a lucky run of puberty and came out the other end a popular guy with looks like a celebrity, and that is absolute bullshit. God's honest truth, Will is envious of Max, who to him seems like he breezes through life. This envy can occasionally cause him to lash out at the other guy.

These days, he's the one making remarks that can be a bit rude, and she's become perhaps a gentler person. They are civil, but that's about it.

Will knows Amber isn't always pleased with the person he becomes, but around her he is at his most genuine. They may have fights, but in the end they love each other. In the past, Maryam was one of Will's closer friends. He was always there with a joke to try and cheer her up, but he was so worried about her he could never share his own burdens. They drifted because of this lack of mutual openness. Now, she's definitely changed. He's pretty sure she's not too fond of him anymore.

Will's infatuation with Eden has been long-running and not always particularly healthy. He has had a crush on her since they were children, something only Amber knows about, but has always been too insecure to say anything. After all, why would she ever want someone fat and ugly like him (as he saw himself) as anything other than a friend? Part of his motivation in losing weight and whatnot was trying to be good enough for this idea of her he has put on a pedestal. And of course, when he thinks he's finally reached her, she becomes a supermodel. It's probably for the best- at this point it isn't her he's in love with, but this idea of her he made up in middle school.
