At the mouth of the crescent there is a singular island that holds the keep. On either side of the isle, bridges stretch to the points of the moon shape, connecting the castle to the main land. Just beyond the keep, there is a steep waterfall that plummets many feet below. The entrance of the castle doesn't face the inside of the crescent island towards the peaceful gulf, but outwards at the forever expanding ocean. Within the keep numerous royals, nobles and people of the court live. But what it is especially known for is its dungeon.
Far beneath the castle lies the deadliest dungeon in all three kingdoms. Ilyos has the most enemies, so many kings past decided that he should have the most feared prison. The cells themselves are carved out of the bedrock beneath the keep with all of the doors in a circle, facing inwards. But, the back wall of every cell is not there. Instead the cells look out over the great drop of the waterfall below. Most prison sentences end in execution… And execution in Ilyos is a spectacle. Instead of beheading, the criminals are pushed over the edge of the Keep's isle and plummet to their deaths at the bottom of the falls far below. The cell's construction was designed to leave the prisoners with a constant fear of the death to come… Or, a coward's way out.
