What is a game that utilizes in-game Gods in regards to gameplay & mechanics, and how you do you feel about it?
- Was the execution on par if not exceeding expectations, or do you think it was lackluster?
- Did the actual mechanics make sense and work, or did they detract from the playability / fun?
- Was it a storytelling feature that distracted from the game, or enriched it?
- Was it even interesting?
LET'S HEAR YOUR OPINIONS!
I'll go first!
This is The Outsider, in human form.
i love the outsider, ok.
I can talk for days about how much I love the game Dishonored, and I love the surreal quest line and the secret agenda the god-figure of The Outsider places on the main character.
The gameplay mechanics are enhanced by gaining abilities based on interaction with this god-dude, who also has their own in-game cult. There's plenty of imagery and clues to piece together the agenda and the origin of The Outsider, but for most of the game the character remains an enigmatic mystery that haunts the player. In game and out.
Dishonored is a game I recommend to literally everyone, and anyone, although it does get a bit creepy. The closed world open map style really lends to the need-for-exploration aspect, which is needed to uncover the secrets of the Outsider.
