[OOC] Halo: Rise of Warriors (DEAD)

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby TemplarWarden on Fri Jun 18, 2010 3:14 am

>> I made this because people are from a dead RP are calling. Also, while playing the game I figured that Master Chief has gotten a lot tougher after his encounter with an Elite in Halo: Fall of Reach<<

0647 Hours, August 30 2552 (Military Calendar)/
UNSC Pillar of Autumn, Unknown Space

As the ship rounded the dark side of the gas giant, the object came into full view. It was a ring-shaped structure... Gigantic.
*
Welcome to Halo
*
"Cortana," Captain Keyes whispered. "What is that?"
The Object spun serenely in the heavens. The outer surface was gray metal, reflecting the brilliant starlight. From this distance, the surface of the object seemed to be engraved with deep, ornate geometric patterns.
*
History is waiting to be discovered and made
*
"Could this be some kind of naturally occurring phenomenon?" Lieutenant Dominique asked.
"Unknown," Cortana replied.
Figures scrolled across the sensor displays. A moment later a close-up of the object snapped into focus. Keyes let out a slow whistle.
The inner surface was a mosaic of greens, blues, and browns - trackless desert; jungles; glaciers and vast oceans. Streaks of white clouds cast deep shadows upon the terrain. The ring rotated and brought a new feature into view - a tremendous hurricane forming over an unimaginable wide body of water.
"Captain," Cortana said, "the object is clearly artificial. There's a gravity field that controls the ring's spin and keeps the atmosphere inside. It appears that the ring has an oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere and Earth's normal gravity."
"If it's artificial, who the hell built it... and what in God's name is it?"
Cortana processed that question for a full three seconds, and finally answered: "I don't know, sir."
Captain Keyes took out his pipe, lit it, and puffed once. He examined the curls of smoke thoughtfully. "Then we'd better find out."
*
And your doom shall be exposed
*

You should know how the story goes after this. However, I putting in a few changes. Instead of the Master Chief a squad of four Spartans are present on the Pillar of Autumn. They will go through all that he went through it the Halo: Combat Evolved game like a big four player co-op.
I'll be running NPCs, when and where we encounter enemies. But you can take over from there, which includes numbers.
Spartans are invite only but anyone can be a marine or ODST, or if you want but its not suggested, a Covenant. Just bear in mind that you are much easier to kill then Spartans so don't get too attached to characters.

Weaponry is almost just as it is in the game, except that some weapons that could be avalible in the game but aren't are allowed. Namely dual wielding (in the case of the needler and pistol they are the same as in the first game.) Power/Laser/Plasma sword (Whatever you call it) and the Sentinel Laser, you can carry four of each type of grenade as well, as that is the amount your armor allows.

Each Spartan is a specialist in a specific area or a generalist. You all have the same armor but have preferred weaponry and maybe a few customisations. I won't be taking the leader so feel free to fight over that ^.^
I will allow for sloppiness with others but Spartan characters have to be good role players and have a good character sheet.

Any questions or requests, ask here or PM me. Post your characters on the RP please.

I hope you have fun.

The Spice Melange occurs on only one planet in the entire universe.
The Planet Arrakis, also known as Dune.
He who controls Arrakis, controls the Spice. He who controls the Spice, controls the universe.

I am not sure I want to be a spartan. I am not sloppy and consider myself a very good writer but I might actually like to be a sergeant or marine better :D

I'll join as an ODST. And if it turns out someone you invited to be a spartan declines, I'll gladly play as a spartan.

@Kawai: Ah yes, they're meant to be dead, most were killed at Reach, but we're kinda missing that bit out. Basically its instead of the Master Chief surviving, these four do.

@GoodJobDino: Okay, feel free. It may be a while for them to respond, if my invites take to long, I'll draft you in as a ODST.

XD my history AWESOME I covered everything from her introduction to the Spartan Program to the Fall of reach and how she was able to get onto the Pillar of Autumn :D Please tell me if you like it. It is just a rough, I might go back and change it some when I review my character

Susan was at one point in time a member of the Marine Core and quickly proved her worth in several small conflicts. In one battle her commanding officer was killed in Action and she signle handily was able to turn the regiment from a route to a full victory. This won her the Medal of Honor as well as admittance into the Spartan Program. At the time the Program was just starting out and many of their first trials had resulted in failure. Despite the risk she took the offer to enter the program. She would become part of the first successful Spartan Creation and given the number 009. As a spartan she again proved her worth in firefights and was placed in command of a spartan group and promoted to Lieutenant. She would maintain this position until the Covenant fell upon reach. In the surprise attack on Reach she took command of not only her spartan core but also the surrounding Marine contingent. They held off the assault on a small outpost for 5 hours until the pelican fleet was able to break through and rescue her command. It was said by the time the pelicans got there the only ones left standing were her and 12 marines. She was wounded holding off the covenant to allow the marines to get on the pelican and had to be dragged onto the ship. Upon reaching the stronghold she was immediately raced into surgery and the the Cryro chamber on the Pillar of Autumn.

I would like to not be the leader but my character is a lieutenant so I will if I have too :/

Umm. Thats another reason why i would have liked people to have read the Fall of Reach. It describes the process the actually produced the Spartan IIs. They were kidnapped as children and basic grew from the age of 8, before the Covenant invasion as preparation for begin genetically alter into basically superhuman. About half survived the process. What you are describing there are the Original Spartans who were created before the Spartan IIs.

Sorry for popping your bubble. History isn't all that important as it is mostly the same for all Spartans.

Note. This is a good source of information for Halo:

Yeah I hope they aren't rushed like mine! *nervous laughter*

Though I'm not very familiar with the fall of reach. Its been a while since I read that one. The most recent ones I've read are Cole protocol, and Ghosts of Onyx. I'll probably reread Reach for this occasion if I can find it lol

Ha ha, or rushed like mine. I just couldn't get the feel of it when making my character. I hope he doesn't turn out junk.

Ha ha, Good character Kawai. It was an instant approve. Sorry Angel :p. Just a note, Plasma grenades will probably be easier to come by then Frags as the squad moves into Enemy territory eg. all the time. Also, within Spartans, there is not a large amount of attention paid to ranks, every Spartan has the potential to be a general so they don't compare themselves through ranks.

Games should be good enough really. Its only for character creation that a huge amount of background knowledge is most useful.

I've never liked The Flood. The writer is kinda stupid I think.

Yeah the flood was kinda a wait wtf Deus ex Machina moment I think.........Kinda had no purpose......... Though I suppose without them the halos would never have been made and as a result there would never be a halo series and lord knows how much that would suck XD

and thank you for the compliment :D I feel loved

OH WAIT danm, I forgot to add something to my history

dragged onto the ship shooting her pistol screaming "BASTARDS, HOW DARE YOU DIE ON ME, GET BACK UP AND FIGHT SO I CAN KILL YOU AGAIN"

Well i meant the book. The flood scared me the first time i encountered them. I never finished the game, always stopping before they turned up, then i realised that I could annihilate them lol. Ha ha, interesting addition.
Whats Sergeant Johnson's place?

...........dude.........the flood are the easiest things to kill in the world...... XD There are so much fun on Legendary XD the little tiny things take out like 1/5 of your shields XD

and you know in the game when he goes

"Men, we led those dumb bugs out to the middle of nowhere to keep 'em from getting their filthy claws on Earth. But, we stumbled onto something they're so hot for, that they're scrambling over each other to get it. Now I don't care if it's God's own anti-son-of-a-bitch machine or a giant hula-hoop; We're not gonna let them have it! What we will let them have is a belly full of lead and a pool of their own blood to drown in! Am I right Marines?!"
—Staff Sergeant Johnson
"Sir, yes sir!"
—UNSC Marines
"Mmm-mmm! Damn right I am!"
—Staff Sergeant Johnson

kinda like the person who rally's the marines and leads them into the fight. (Johnson's was my favorite character, always has been XD)
