[OOC] Weapons & Mags

~Weapons~

Almost all technology in the world of Phantasy uses Photons. These ‘light particles’ power most everything, and emit bright and varied spectrums. Their ability to cut make them a powerful weapon source, used with most every type of weapon. Listed below are the various types, along with the most basic image example of the weapon.

Saber
Image Sabers are the bread and butter weapons of the hunters, providing the basic one or two handed blades. All classes are capable and proficient in their use.
Image

Sword
Image
Swords are large, two handed blades that hit a large area, striking and cleaving through multiple foes, though they are a bit more lacking in the speed department. HU’s are the only class proficient in their use.
Image

Double Saber
Image
Double Sabers are variants on the original that have double-ended blades. This category also includes items such as bars and staves, where the primary grip is in the center or the weapon. HU’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Daggers
Image
Daggers are short and sharp quick blades that allow for a rapid series of strikes. The increased manoeuvrability is offset by decreased power. HU’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Claw
Image
Claws are long extensions of the hand that allow one to slash and rake into the opposition. More balanced between speed and damage then the Daggers, they are fairly unique amongst any hunters arsenal. HU’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Twin Saber
Image
Twin Sabers refer to specialised sabers designed for dual-wielding, and allow for more varied swordplay than regular sabers. HU’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Partisan
Image
Partisans are large range sweeping weapons similar to the sword, but provide more balance in their speed at the cost of some of the swords power. HU’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Slicer
Image
Slicers are small bladed weapons that send out photon energy when swung. This allows for ranged and close attacks, though the power of the physical strikes isn’t as powerful as any of the other blades. HU’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Wired Lance
Image
The wired lance is a katar-like pair of weapons that can extend on grapple cables to hit far foes and either reel them, or yourself in. Functionally, they are similar to daggers, and probably more versatile. HU’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Gauntlets
Image
For the martial artist, gauntlets are a necessity to allow for power packed punches. HU’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Handgun
Image
Handguns are the basic ranged weapon of all hunters, and fire at an average rate with average power. All classes are capable and proficient in their use.

Rifle
Image
Rifles are the backbone of a ranger’s arsenal, providing either long range damage, of consistent medium range output. They come in a variety of styles, with varying munitions. RA’s are the only class proficient in their use.
Image

Mech-Gun
Image
Mechguns are dual wielded rapid fire guns, each shot relatively weak, but the ability to quickly fire multiple rounds is thought to make up for that. RA’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Shots
Image
Shots or Launchers, are the heavy artillery of the rangers, allowing for a spread of bullets with decent power, striking a large area of affect. RA’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Bazooka
Image
Bazookas are the biggest, slowest, heaviest guns a ranger can use. There power is incredible, but their impracticality can make them a bit of a burden at times. RA’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Cane
Image
Canes are short, one handed melee weapons working functionally like a club. They are primarily used for the boosting of techniques, however; and are rarely used for physical attacks unless in an emergency. FO’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Rod
Image
Rods function the same as canes, however, are a bit harder hitting, if a little slower. It’s less surprising to see one being used for physical attacks. FO’s are the only class proficient in their use.
Image

Wand
Image
Wands have little to no use as a melee weapon, however, their amplification of techniques is second to none. FO’s are the only class proficient in their use.

Card
Image
Cards are unique, photon packed throwing weapons. Though not amplifying Techniques, they provide a ranged option for technique casters. FO’s are the only class proficient in their use.

~Mags~
Image

So what is a Mag? Well, Mag's are small mechanical helpers that assist in day to day work for Hunters. Able to take pictures, store items, play music, and send messages, Mags are quite multi-purpose helpers. Pictures taken can confirm the completion of a mission, as Mags are linked to the Hunter's Guild. Additionally, should one's communicator become damaged, Mags can provide an alternative means of accessing one's messages, along with sending them. Paranoid people may fear that a Mag's information can be hacked or monitored by outside parties, but so far no evidence has been given to show this is the case.

Surprisingly, Mags have some form of sentience and happiness, and although they don't require food, providing them with sustenance can cause permanent changes to both a mag's capabilities and abilities. They're very loyal assistants, and although they have no real way of communicating, they do their best to assist Hunters however they can. Rumour also has it that should a mag absorb enough of certain photons, they'll be able to release them in a powerful bursting attack...

Other examples of functions that Mags can gain include healing, jet boosters and temporary flight, shields, weapons, techniques, etc.
