The Pantheon of Elories

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Nevan on Sun May 26, 2013 9:15 pm

This is a compiled list of all known Gods, Deities or powerful entities worshiped as such in the world of Elories. Collectively, they are The Pantheon.

If there is a God established in the IC content they will be added here with as much information as possible. If you have an idea for a God and wish to add them, simply fill out this form below and reply to this topic or send a Game Master a PM.

(Based on unseenshadow's Botanist's Guide entry code)

Appearance: (How are they depicted as appearing to their followers and other mortals?)
Worship Status: (Are they actively worshiped? Are any religions based upon them? If yes, describe it a little.)
Relationships: (Do they have any notable relationships with any particular mortals or other deities? Does not have to be romantic and does not have to contain information you might not want others to know prior to an IC reveal.)
Artifacts: (Do they have any artifacts attributed to them either in their personal possession or somewhere in Mortal hands? If so, describe them.)
Character Profile: (Does the deity have a character profile? If so, link it. Please note that having a character profile for a deity and otherwise playing one would require GM permission, since they ARE deities.)

The Pantheon

Deity Name: Osira.
Deity 'Gender': Female.

Attributed Spheres of Influence: Osira is worshiped as a Goddess of war, love and fertility. She is commonly associated with the Wolf.
Appearance: Osira is depicted in art as a beautiful, nude woman wearing war-paint made from the blood of soldiers hunted down in battle. Her other distinguishing features include long, white hair, white eyes and the tails of four grey wolves sprouting from her lower back and swirling behind her. When paintings of famous historic scenes known for animalistic rage and/or passion are created, her likeness is often included somewhere in the background - watching the scene with satisfaction.
Worship Status: Osira is most commonly worshiped by humanoid species such as Men and Elves and although temples devoted to pleasing her exist in many societies, it is said she dislikes formal religion and the concept of priests and followers. The reason she is worshiped varies from pleasing her to avoid her wrath, to gaining her blessing for murder, battle and creating strong children. The latter is incredibly common in more tribal societies, where she is one of the most important deities to many of them.
Relationships: Unknown.
Artifacts:
- Osira's Fang: According to legend, Osira's Fang is the tooth of an ancient Wolf-God from long before the rise of modern societies. According to some, it is a large dagger whose wielder has Osira's personal blessing and protection. To others, it is a key to an ancient complex filled with treasure and desire.
Character Profile: None.

Deity Name: The Auditor/Merafina/Order/The Judge/The Lady/Nykzia/Laea
Deity 'Gender': Female

Attributed Spheres of Influence: Order/Law
Appearance: A tall woman clad in a dark robe with a hood that hides most of her face. White/light grey skinned, with black hair and bright piercing grey eyes. Always depicted as bare-footed.
Worship Status: Worshipped in one form or another by most races and nations, though not all the details are agreed upon by the various religions, almost all who worship a deity of order do so in reverence to her.
Relationships: None known.
Artifacts: N/A
Character Profile: Link to MV incarnation

Deity Name: Selphina
Deity 'Gender': Female

Attributed Spheres of Influence: Death
Appearance: Link
Worship Status: Worshipped by most humanoid races.
Relationships: None known.
Artifacts:
Lunar Sword: A massive golden greatsword, almost as large as a man, unwieldable by most humans. By one designated as a champion of Selphina, however, it behaves as light as a feather. Only with more crushing and stabbing.
Scales of Pitiless Justice: A replica of the scales used to judge people at death, these scales serve multiple purposes. In the event that the wielder faces a more powerful foe, spikes will jut from them to embed into both the wielder's chest and their enemy's. Power from the foe is then drained and granted to the wielder, leaving them at an equal power level. Similarly, they can be deployed near death or when severely wounded, and the same effect will occur, except with life force.
Character Profile: Link to 'Apotheosis' incarnation

Deity Name: Verus
Deity 'Gender': Both

Attributed Spheres of Influence: Plants/Animals/Balance
Appearance:
The male version of Verus is a large, animalistic man wearing merely the pelt of a bear as a kilt. He is pale and muscular, covered in scars from the claws of varying animals. He wields blood red eyes and fur length, blonde hair.

The female version appears as a thin, pale woman who is covered completely in plants that take the shape of a dress. She often is portrayed with green eyes and hair, but this can vary.

Most times that Verus is portrayed, both versions are leaning against the other, symbolizing balance. They are often found in the trees of woodland scenes.
Worship Status: Verus is usually worshiped by nature oriented tribes, but is also often worshiped by alchemists and hunters.
Relationships:N/A
Artifacts:
The Great Beast's Claw: This large, metal claw weapon is about the size of a human chest. It is a reptilian claw, similar to that of a dragon. Once someone puts on the claw, said person gains the strength to wield the claw as if it was a feather. This strength exists in both arms and is not limited in use to only the claw.

Veraflower: This staff is a rose that is the size of a staff, but does not have thorns. The staff is surrounded by a single vine. Veraflower allows its user to control the plant-life around them, from instantaneous growth to causing trees to move.
Character Profile:N/A

Deity Name: The King of Crows
Deity 'Gender': Male

Attributed Spheres of Influence: Isn't technically a god, but started a religion associated with death and undeath.
Appearance: Often is depicted in dark armor, sitting on a throne.
Worship Status: Not worshiped very widely. Mainly worshiped by hunters of the undead/demons.
Artifacts: The King's Sapphire: A gem that is believed to have been worn by The King.

The King's Sword: A silver sword supposedly used by the legend.

The King of Crows doesn't actually have any power over the dead, unlike Selphina. He was merely a legend that sparked a religion. His name was lost to time, but The King was an accomplished slayer of the undead. Now, those who worship him follow his teachings about how there is only one true life, and how death is the great leveler. Often, these people also worship Selphina. It is possible to enter the Order of The Crow, an elite group of hunters that follow the King's teachings closely, by hunting the undead. The King of Crows doesn't necessarily condone death, but a big part of this religion is about accepting death.

Deity Name: Syrix
Deity 'Gender': Male

Attributed Spheres of Influence: Justice
Appearance: A man wearing heavy blue armor, wielding a shield and hammer.
Worship Status: Worshiped at least some by most humanoid races.
Relationships: Sometimes his jurisdiction overlaps with Merfina's.
Artifacts: The Shield of Syrix: A blessed shield.

The Hammer of Syrix: A blessed hammer.

There are two sects of Syrix worshipers: The Hammer and The Shield. The Shields are all about doing what is right by protecting the innocent, and those in The Hammer sect aim to spread justice by smiting evil.

Deity Name: Lestencia
Deity 'Gender': Female

Attributed Spheres of Influence: Travel/adventure.
Appearance: A woman with dark hair and tan skin, who wears bright orange robes.
Worship Status: Often worshiped by traveling merchants and adventurers. It isn't uncommon to pray to Lestencia for safety when starting a journey, or thanking her for a safe return.
