This simple bullet point Checklist will tell you everything that has been established so far about the undead. Always refer to the newest List as it contains the most up to date information.

1. The Virus affects different people in different ways. The Majority of people suffered flu like symptoms before succumbing. Depending on unknown variables reanimation can take minutes or hours.

2. Survivors did not suffer flu like symptoms.

3. New Findings suggest that Survivors are in fact carriers of the virus, if they die from anything less than traumatic head injury they will come back as if they have been infected.

4. The only way to kill a zombie is traumatic head injury.

5. The mechanical structure of the zombie body is exactly the same as a normal Human body.

6. Zombies do not experience fear, pain or any other feeling.

7. Zombies cannot open doors.

8. Zombies cannot Climb Ladders.

9. Zombies can use staircases.

10. It is currently unknown how zombie perception works, it is clear they use sight and sound to locate prey.

11. Newer zombies are stronger and faster than older ones. This is because zombie muscle works in the same way as human muscle. When it is exerted it tears. In humans these small tears are repaired and the muscle becomes stronger. In zombies the tears just get worse. However it would take a long time for these tears to incapacitate a zombie.

12. A Zombie bite will not clot. It has been suggested any open wound that get zombie material in it will not clot. This is what makes a zombie bite lethal. Even use of clotting agents have proven unsuccessful.

13. Zombies are slowly rotting corpses. This means they present all of the health risks associated with a dead body.

14. Zombies are attracted to fire but only prolonged exposure will kill them.

15. Zombies cannot drown or suffocate as they don’t breathe.

16. Zombies cannot die of freezing however they will suffer cellular damage, if this is extensive enough it can destroy the brain.

17. In a foot race between a newly turned Zombie and a person of similar size and musculature the zombie will always win. They do not fatigue, feel pain or have any inhibitors.

18. In the situation described above the Zombie will always be stronger.

19. Zombies are clumsy and this is the main advantage the living have over them. Good choice of terrain is vital when escaping.

20. Shooting a small moving target with any form of weapon in incredibly difficult in particular when that small moving target wants to eat you. Trained marksmen are taught to aim for the central body mass not the head for a reason.

21. The human skull is one the strongest bones in the body and is evolved to protect the brain. That means it takes a lot of force to even cause a fracture. To cause enough damage to destroy the brain takes a lot more.

22. Head shots that would kill a human will not kill a zombie. In the Human brain all parts work together to keep the person alive. In the zombie brain there is very limited function. This means large sections of the brain are useless and as such destroying them has no impact on the zombie. It is currently unclear which parts of the brain are necessary to Zombie survival but it is widely believed the Brain Stem is the most important region.

23. Zombies are susceptible to Hydrostatic shock.

24. Zombies do not possess any concept of self preservation. They will continue to hunt prey even if it damages them.

25. Zombies have acute night vision or at least what appears to be night vision, they might be capable of utilising other sense to a greater degree than humans.

26. A zombie’s moan will attract other Zombies.
